BEATISM on SoundBetter

I understand creative vision, I can mix transparent or apparent. I have a masters in sound engineering and music is my passion. I do a lot of dark, experimental hip hop and metal, but I honestly love music will listen to and mix any genres.

I will mix and or master your music, to your taste.
I've been a session guitarist since 2014 and can create complex and beautiful guitar arrangements.
I would say I specialize in dark experimental hip hop, wave, metal and electronic.
I have previously worked in hip hop, video game music and metal but I love exploring different genres.
As a session guitarist and musician I am used to working with live recordings and live instruments.

For your mix; I understand creative vision, I can be as transparent you want me to be.
Whether you're looking to spice things up in your mix, or if you're looking for someone to master your track and get it to sound loud and Spotify ready.

Consistent and reliable. Got a hip hop mix and will definitely return. Took the song where it needed to go and elevated it beyond expectations.

Fire 13 track album mix and mastering. Thanks for the open mind and revisions, you created a moody cohesive soundscape, something we were struggling with. See you next year!

Interview with BEATISM

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: I don't care. if it sounds good, it sounds good.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: what daw do you use? what does this song/album mean to you, how do you see it?

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: it's hard to describe your sound, it's ok to use words that are abstract like "add some more yellow" also demoitis is a real condition, learn how to cure it on YouTube

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: 1. my MacBook 2. my 8330s monitors 3. any interface 4. guitar 5. power conditioner

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I've been playing music since I was 6, first studio experience with a band first year of high school, hooked by music ever since. studied and graduated as a sound engineer. Session guitarist for a few years at the same time being a ghost producer, sitting in rooms and music studios learning and observing.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: surrealism

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: a good take is better than a good edit.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: These days it's mainly hip hop, grungy things, atmospheric things. things with a lot of soul and intent.

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: control over soundwaves

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: texture, dynamics, color; a lot of abstract things that can't really be quantified with words.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: depends on the type of work. usually, we touch base, you tell me about your sound and what you're looking for. we see if it's a good fit for everybody involved, if it is then we get to work.

  23. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  24. A: I like to work with DAW sessions when possible, for that reason I need a lot of plug ins. I produce and mix in the box, master analog in a Mastering grade room.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: Production, mix and master. I work with talented people who trust me enough to take their sound to that professional level. I can add grit and punch to a mix or I can balance the mix and master it, taking it to a proper streaming loudness etc.
