Always striving for clarity, dynamics, and depth of field
Winner of the 2024 U.S. (Nashville) 48-Hour Film Festival, Best Sound Design and Best Film, with "Lords of Fruit Town", placing Top 3 (nominee) Best Sound Design at the international festival, Lisbon.
Former U.S. Navy Band drummer and live sound engineer. Studied at Musicians Institute (drums) and The Los Angeles Film School (audio-post and music recording/mixing/mastering).
I perform/record/mix live drums, ambient/cinematic/soundscapes, master music, and while I specialize (and love!) background ambience sound design, I can also do full post-audio editing/re-recording mixes. My prior background was in orchestral percussion and drumline, and I apply that percussionist sensitivity to my audio work.
You can find original ambient/atmospheric soundscapes streaming at Quiet Roar Audio and Eddie Dreher. Mastering/audio credits can be found either as Eddie Dreher or Edward Dreher.
I'm working mostly in-the-box (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, iZotope RX, VCV Rack) except for creative FX with an ever-growing guitar pedal collection run thru a Radial Stereo Effects Reamper. Instruments include Ludwig Classic Oak (22/13/16) for dark-punchy rock/country/cinematic drums, Gretsch Maple Catalina Jazz (18/12/14), softer/delicate/experimental drums, Zildjian and Meinl cymbals, and analog synths Moog Labyrinth and Sirin.
