Interview with Tebi

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I've been doing this since I was 17, and now I'm 29. I never stopped making music.

  3. Q: How would you describe your style?

  4. A: Powerful and emotional sound.

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: With any artist I am always open to working together.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Never stop learning and listening to music with an open mind. Listening without prejudice makes you a more versatile, creative, and professional producer. Every style has something to teach, and the broader your musical horizon, the more tools you'll have to create something unique. This constant curiosity not only improves your technique but also makes you love what you do more and more.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: My strongest skill is creating music from scratch and finding the right sound for each artist. I focus on understanding their identity, their vision, and what they want to convey, and from there, I build a production that authentically represents them. Whether it's the sound design, the selection of harmonies, or the overall atmosphere of the track, my goal is to enhance what makes each artist unique and bring out their best sound.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: Music Production

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: My work process adapts to each artist or project, but it always begins with careful listening to understand the vision and message they want to convey. If I'm producing from scratch, I usually start with a melodic or rhythmic idea, working with Korg synthesizers, samples, or base harmonies in Ableton Live, also leveraging advanced tools like Max for Live to design unique sounds or custom creative processes. From there, I develop the structure, sound design, and arrangements, always prioritizing the emotion and impact of each section. In the mix, I strive for a modern and clean balance, paying attention to details and respecting the artist's style. I like to maintain fluid communication throughout the process, ensuring that the final result exactly reflects what the client is looking for.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I work in a hybrid environment that combines digital and analog tools. I use a MacBook Pro as my main workstation, along with an Apogee interface that guarantees high-fidelity conversion. My ADAM monitors deliver precise and detailed stereo imaging, ideal for making critical mixing decisions. For production, I use both Logic Pro and Ableton Live, depending on the type of project and creative flow I'm pursuing. It also incorporates Korg analog and digital synthesizers, allowing me to explore unique textures and enrich arrangements with custom sounds.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: I'm deeply inspired by modern R&B for its harmonic richness, vocal sensitivity, and detailed approach to textures. I listen a lot to artists like Justin Bieber and Chris Brown, who combine soulful melodies with polished and versatile productions. I'm currently working intensively with K-pop, a genre I admire for its production level, stylistic diversity, and ability to integrate global influences. I'm influenced by producers like DEAN, Cha Cha Malone, Pdogg, and LDN Noise, who strike a balance between the technical and the emotional. That blend of sonic precision and creativity is what I strive to bring to every project as a music producer.

  19. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  20. A: Both have their own personalities. There's no comparison when it comes to creating.

  21. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  22. A: The Music!

  23. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  24. A: I do it quickly and sometimes I don't rest haha!

  25. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  26. A: I ask them which artists or references inspire them, what message they want to convey with their music, and what their long-term vision is. I'm also interested in knowing what stage the project is at and what they expect from the process, so I can better adapt to their needs.

  27. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  28. A: Find someone who listens to your vision, not just someone who knows how to produce. Connection and communication are key to achieving an authentic, high-quality result.

  29. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  30. A: Laptop, monitors, interface and microphone.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: Different Sounds.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: Music Production & Mixing
