Interview with RTG

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of is a song I wrote and produced for an artist blending Reggae and Pop elements. My role involved everything from songwriting and melody creation to full production. What made it special was seeing how the track resonated with listeners, and how my creative input helped bring the artist’s vision to life. The positive feedback we received confirmed that the hard work and attention to detail paid off!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment, I’m working on a few exciting projects, including some new original songs for artists in Reggae, Pop, and R&B genres. I’m also experimenting with blending orchestral elements into my tracks, which has been a fun and challenging process. I’m always working to push my creative boundaries!

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: While I haven’t personally worked with everyone on SoundBetter, I’ve come across several talented professionals who specialize in various areas of music production, mixing, and mastering. If you’re looking for specific services, I’d be happy to recommend individuals based on your needs. Just let me know what you're looking for!

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I currently only use digital tools for music production. I love the precision, flexibility, and endless possibilities that digital platforms provide. It allows me to work quickly, experiment with different sounds, and fine-tune every detail to create high-quality tracks.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise to clients is to provide creative, personalized music that captures their unique vision. I’ll work closely with them throughout the process, ensuring that every detail is perfect and that the final product exceeds expectations.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I love most about my job is the creative freedom to bring ideas to life and the emotional connection I get to create through music. It’s incredibly rewarding to see a song come together and know that it’ll resonate with others.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Customers often ask about timeline, revisions, and whether I can create a song in their specific style. I usually offer 2 free revisions, and I’m happy to tailor my work to fit their vision.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception is that music production is just about using software. In reality, it’s about creativity, emotion, and collaboration crafting a song that truly resonates takes time and skill.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I typically ask clients about their vision, preferred genre, any specific references, the emotion they want to convey, their timeline, and budget, to ensure I can create exactly what they're looking for.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice is to clearly communicate your vision and collaborate throughout the process. Your input is key to creating a track that truly reflects your style. Trust the creative process, and we’ll make something great together!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: If I were stranded on a desert island, I’d bring my laptop, audio interface, headphones, midi keyboard, and a solar charger to keep creating and producing music, no matter where I am.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: My career path started with a deep love for music, which led me to explore songwriting and production. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills in multiple genres, including Reggae, Pop, EDM, Hip Hop, and R&B, while experimenting with orchestral sounds to add a unique touch. I’ve been actively creating music for over 14 years, and during that time, I’ve worked on a variety of projects, from producing tracks for independent artists to crafting my own original songs. Each experience has taught me something new, and I’m always pushing myself to grow and innovate in the music industry.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is a fusion of catchy melodies, emotional lyrics, and innovative production, often blending orchestral sounds with Reggae, Pop, EDM, Hip Hop, and R&B. I enjoy creating music that mixes classical elements with modern beats, adding depth and richness to each track. The result is a fresh and unique sound that resonates emotionally with listeners.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with Bruno Mars. His blend of soul, funk, pop, and R&B is unmatched, and he has an incredible way of bringing pure energy and emotion to every track. His attention to detail in both performance and production is inspiring, and I’d love to contribute to creating a timeless hit with his unique style.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: A great production trick is to start with unconventional sound sources. Use everyday noises like the sound of a door closing, a glass tapping, or even a traffic hum. These can be manipulated and layered into your track, giving it a unique texture and vibe that can’t be replicated with typical instruments. It’s all about finding new, creative ways to make your music stand out!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on a range of genres, including Reggae, Pop, Hip Hop, and R&B. I enjoy blending styles to create fresh, unique sounds, whether it’s crafting upbeat dance tracks or laid-back, soulful melodies.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is songwriting. I excel at creating memorable melodies and impactful lyrics that resonate with listeners. Whether it's crafting a catchy hook or telling a powerful story through music, I bring creativity and emotion to every track.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring creativity, catchy melodies, and emotional depth to every song. My focus is on creating music that connects with listeners while staying true to the artist’s vision. I aim to make each track unique, engaging, and memorable.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: My typical work process starts with understanding the artist's vision. I discuss their style, themes, and any ideas they have for the song. Once I have a clear direction, I start with melody creation and songwriting. After the basic structure is in place, I move on to producing the instrumental and laying down the track. I work closely with the artist throughout, ensuring their input shapes the final product. Once everything is in place, I fine-tune the mix and make revisions until we have a polished track ready for release!

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work in a professional home studio equipped with top software like Ableton Live and Studio One, paired with high-quality microphones and audio interfaces for the best sound. My setup allows me to craft diverse sounds, whether it's for Reggae, Pop, EDM, or Hip Hop, bringing out the best in each track.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I’m inspired by artists and producers who push creative boundaries, such as Bob Marley for his soul-stirring lyrics and authentic sound, Pharrell Williams for his unique production style, and Dr. Dre for his innovative approach to beat-making. I also admire modern producers like Tame Impala and Finneas for blending genres and crafting unforgettable sounds.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I specialize in songwriting, melody creation, and full production. I work with artists to bring their ideas to life, whether they need custom lyrics, catchy hooks, or a complete track ready for release. My focus is on creating music that resonates, across genres like Reggae, Pop, Hip Hop, EDM, and R&B.
