Advena Lupus are grateful of what Christian have done with the sound on our first album. The communication was flawless. And he really did now where we and the album would go in the soundscape. So thumbs up for Schwarzmusik!
Chris has done an excellent job for us mixing and mastering our album. Initially the plan was to have mastering done only but once we heard what Chris was capable of we had no hesitation to give him deeper access. Chris has a keen and experienced metal ear and added considerable value to the record, never afraid to get into the weeds with exceptional attention to detail. Diligent, hardworking and very responsive. A pleasure to work with and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
Really can’t recommend Christian more highly. He has taken his time to really listen to our project and identify areas where improvements can be made. When I first contacted Christian, we already had a few of masters done by other people, but I was still not quite happy with the result. The changes that christian suggested then made, plus mastering of the project really improved the sound drastically. The end result is fantastic and such a vast improvement on anything else we have done.
Chris has mixed, produced and mastered the new Hystersis album. He did everything right, brought out the strengths of the music and helped with remedying the weak spots. He brought new ideas to the project and has helped to improve the record in every way possible. Very professional, much attention to all details, quick in responding and affordable

Interview with Schwarzmusik
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most common is mixing their recorded stuff and enhance and complete their product.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: A lot to mention. I like the sound of American and Swedish death metal and deathcore bands, as August Burns Red, The Ghost Inside, Wage War, As I lay Dying, Katatonia, and many more.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The studio is simple but effective. I have a proper recording chain and descent acoustics. I am focusing more on in the box mixing. I think it is better to strive for a certain sound when you know your tools best, rather then getting too many tools.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Drums, Bass, Guitars, Vocals, Effects, Keys... most important to me are drums. Thats like the fundament of a metal song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a high level of attention and editing skills, plus giving mixes depth, punch and clarity.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Editing... maybe one of the most underrated skill. But it is the core!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Modern Pop to Rock Metal and a lot of Hip Hop lately
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The Pultec EQ trick. Especially for Kick. Boost the center frequency of the bass drum and attenuate the octave above.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: There are many. But to be honest, Calvin Harris. He is the number one songwriter in modern dance music. I would like to see his approach.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clear, defined, good audible peppered with some nice effects.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started making music at the age of 8. I was 12 when we got the first PC. Since then :)
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: PC DAW, INTERFACE, MICROPHONE, COMPRESSOR, HEADPHONES
