Interview with Yone OG

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m particularly proud of was working on a track with Neto Reyno. I helped produce and mix a fusion of regional mexicano and urban sounds, and seeing it resonate with both his fans and new listeners was amazing. My role involved custom beat production, recording, and mixing, where I had to blend traditional elements with modern beats to create a fresh, unique sound.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Right now, I’m working on a mix of projects, including custom beats for independent artists, a few Latin Urban collaborations, and some full production tracks for hip hop and regional mexicano artists. I’m also always experimenting with new sounds and trying to push the boundaries of genre fusion.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I don’t personally know anyone on SoundBetter yet, but I always recommend working with professionals who are committed to quality and creativity. There are many talented producers, mixers, and engineers here that can help bring your vision to life.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both have their strengths, but I lean towards digital for its precision, versatility, and ease of use in today’s fast-paced production environment. With tools like Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, and a wide array of plugins, digital allows me to create and perfect sounds efficiently. However, I still love the warmth of analog when it comes to certain recordings or mixing touches it’s about using the best of both worlds.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is to deliver quality, authenticity, and attention to detail in every project. I’ll work closely with you to ensure the final product aligns with your vision and exceeds your expectations. You’ll get a track that’s tailored to you, with a professional finish that stands out.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love the creative process bringing an idea or feeling to life through sound. Every project is unique, and I enjoy collaborating with artists to help them find their voice and create something memorable. The ability to blend different genres and emotions is what keeps me excited every day

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: 1.“How long will it take to finish my track?” I usually tell them that beats take 3-5 days, while full production and mixes might take 7-10 days, depending on the project’s scope. 2.“Can I make revisions?” Yes, I offer 2 revisions per service for free. After that, additional revisions will have a fee, but I make sure you’re satisfied before finalizing everything. 3.“Do I have full rights to the music?” Yes, once the project is paid for, you get full rights to the final product, but I do retain the right to use it in my portfolio and for promotion.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: A common misconception is that producing music is just about making beats. In reality, it’s about shaping the entire sound from the arrangement and vocals to mixing and mastering. Every detail matters to create a cohesive, polished final product that feels real and connects with the listener.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask about their vision for the track, what emotions they want to convey, and what references they have in mind. I also like to know about their preferred sound and if they have any specific ideas for arrangement, vocals, or instruments. Understanding their goals helps me create a unique sound tailored just for them.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be clear about your vision and vibe from the start. Share references, emotions, or concepts you want to express. The more real and specific you are, the better I can bring your sound to life. Trust the process we’re building something timeless, not just a track.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My MacBook with Logic Pro X, Apollo Twin interface, Neumann TLM 103 mic, a pair of Audio-Technica headphones, Focal Monitors and a MIDI controller. With that setup, I could create, record, mix, and vibe anywhere even on an island.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been making music for over 13 years. I started as a rapper and beatmaker, then studied music professionally to level up my production and engineering. Over time, I evolved into a full producer and recording artist, working with artists across the U.S. and Latin America, always focused on delivering industry-quality sound with heart

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Versatile, emotional, and real. I blend street energy with melodic elements, mixing genres like Hip Hop, Trap, Regional Mexicano, and R&B. My style adapts to the artist but always keeps a signature feel raw, clean, and impactful.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with artists like Kendrick Lamar or Santa Fe Klan. Kendrick for his lyrical depth and storytelling, and Santa Fe Klan for his raw emotion and fusion of Latin roots with urban sounds. Both artists bring soul and authenticity that align with my production style.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Focus on the emotion first sound selection and arrangement should always serve the feeling you’re trying to create. A clean mix and expensive plugins mean nothing if the track doesn’t connect with the listener.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on Hip Hop, Trap, R&B, Regional Mexicano, Latin Urban, and West Coast styles. I love experimenting with fusions and creating unique cross-genre sounds that push boundaries while staying true to the artist’s roots.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is creating custom beats that match the artist’s vibe and voice perfectly no matter the genre. I can blend styles, build emotion, and shape a unique sound that stands out. I also take pride in my ear for mixing vocals with clarity and punch.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring emotion, clarity, and versatility. Whether it’s a hard hitting beat, a smooth vocal, or a clean mix, I make sure every element supports the artist’s identity. I’m skilled in blending genres and creating custom beats that elevate the message. My goal is always to make a song feel timeless and real.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by understanding the artist’s vision style, mood, and message. Then I build the beat or foundation, layer instruments, and arrange the structure. If vocals are needed, I guide or record them, then move on to mixing, vocal tuning, and mastering. I always keep the artist involved through each stage to make sure the final product feels personal and polished.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work with Logic Pro X and Pro Tools, running on a Mac-based setup with Apollo interfaces for top-tier audio quality. I use Neumann microphones for recording vocals and a range of Waves and FabFilter plugins for mixing and mastering. My studio is treated acoustically to ensure clean, accurate monitoring and a solid creative workflow.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you? I’m inspired by producers like Dr. Dre, Timbaland, and Tainy for their versatility and innovation. I also admire artists like Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar and Gucci Mane for their lyrical depth and authenticity. Their work motivates me to blend emotion, precision, and originality in every track.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I specialize in custom beats, full production, and mixing. I also record vocals in English and Spanish, and often work on complete songs from scratch including songwriting, arrangement, and final mastering. My goal is to deliver industry-level quality tailored to each artist’s unique sound.
