Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I recently worked on something with Jazzy and I've always been a big fan of her music so it was a big deal to me, our minds just clicked and we ended up writing something we were both really happy with.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I'm working on a lot of tracks in Ibiza at the moment with Tom Staar and his team getting ready for our tunes to hit the clubs this summer.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: Rory Hope, amazing friend, writer and singer.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Digital - not as easy to ware away or be lost.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: That I will deliver something with meaning and catchiness that hopefully you will LOVE

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I like the people I get to work with on a daily basis, I love connection and networking/ meeting like minded people.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: Can you write something to my track in the style of someone. Yes of course, any references or a sense of direction is always helpful.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That a topline is just an add on to a djs track, a topline is a massive part of the song. Without this not many people would remember it or be able to sing it/ have anything to relate to which is what makes a song great.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: Do they already have any concepts around the meaning of the song, and do they have any vocal references.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: I can turn things around quick and cater to your needs, I'm used to working to briefs and references.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: My voice memos, my guitar, my mic, laptop and interface.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: Professionally I've been doing this for about 6 years now.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I loveee doing airy vocals, I can still do the more bealty style but I really like the haunting, airy vocal style. My favourite style to write in would be commercial dance/ dance pop.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I'd love to work with Sabrina Carpenter right now actually, I'm just loving her styles and think we could write a beautiful song.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: For recording vocals, I'd say always use logic, it's just the easiest ;)

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: I work on a lot of dance music, anything from house to trance to D&B. I also write a lot for sync where I could be doing a country song one day and a rock song the next. Another genre I find myself in is the Kpop/ Kpop world where I write for the girlbands, this can either be "cutesy" or very boss woman with a hint of R&B and rap.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: I think my strongest skill is writing catchy melodies.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I love melodies, so I really like to focus on catchy melodies that will get everyone singing/ remembering the song, I also like really cool lyrical concepts and then I finish it off with either a powerful vocal or a soft "pretty" vocal.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: My typical work process is to get down a rough melody on my voice notes, then add in some lyrics/ come up with a concept or work to the brief, then record the rough idea, send it off to check everyone is happy before I add all the finishing touches.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I've got a home studio in my house, fully soundproof, I've got an Aston spirit mic which really does wonders for my voice, with a halo around. I've got a dual interface and a Mac book pro with logic where I can add my vocal chain and plug ins.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I think my biggest inspos at the moment are Chalie xcx ( I love the tech house vibe she's bringing), Billie Eillish (because of her beautiful tone) and Taylor Swift (I think her lyrical songwriting is amazing)

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I write toplines with catchy melodies, lyrics and hooks and then I preform the vocal on it.
