Experimental Sound Engineer

I love sounds, the experimentation you can do with them, how a simple idea can be transported by the complexity of its sound form. I'm used to working on sessions mixing organic material, recordings and synths, all transported by powerful voices.

I started out in music as a sound engineer in a studio in Paris, recording and mixing musicians from all sorts of different backgrounds. I've always produced and composed music. I studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in France and at the Royal Conservatory of Gent in Belgium.
Mixing may seem like a simple step that ‘embellishes the sound’.
I think that mixing can go further, it's translating what the artist wanted to express, so that his message appears even clearer than before.
What I'm looking for in music is something that is unique to art, which is the collaboration of ideas. I like to hear an artist's heart, to be inspired by it, and to create new material that can inspire the artist again.
I try not to limit myself to the predefined forms that a piece must take. I always try to push the sound as close as possible to the message it wants to deliver, so mixing styles is very important.
I've already had the chance to work with some fantastic artists using tools other than those I use. I've worked with directors on a wide variety of live action and animation projects, singers, other producers, dancers and even photographers.
