Aspiring Producer & Songwriter II Learning, Exploring & Growing

Hi, I’m Martine aka. MAMA – an aspiring music producer and singer based in Copenhagen. While I’m currently studying Business Economics and Project Management at CBS, music is my true passion. I spend all my free time creating beats, melodies, and exploring different genres, primarily using GarageBand. Though music is still a hobby at this stage, I’m fully committed and motivated to pursue a career in it.

I create music using a mix of loops and DAW instruments in GarageBand, and I’m constantly working on new tracks, both with and without lyrics. My goal is to one day record my own songs or have my music find its place with an artist whose voice resonates with my work.

I’m inspired by artists like SZA, Diane Warren, and Raye, who break boundaries as female producers, and I aspire to follow in their footsteps. Outside of music, my education at CBS is helping me build skills that I can use to bring business and leadership experience into the music industry.

I’m open to collaborating with anyone who shares my love for music and creativity. Right now, I’m looking for an unpaid internship in the music industry (with a label, artist management, or production company) from August to December 2025, and I’m open to opportunities globally.

Interview with MAMA

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I’m producing new beats, working on my own songwriting, and looking for artists who resonate with my sound. I’m also searching for an unpaid internship in the music industry (label, artist management, or production) from August to December 2025 to gain professional experience.

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: Q: Can you create a beat that matches my style? A: Absolutely! I love adapting my sound to different artists and making sure the production complements your voice and energy.

  5. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  6. A: That production is just about pushing buttons—it’s an emotional and creative process that requires instinct, storytelling, and technical skill.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: What’s the mood/emotion you want to capture? Are there any reference tracks that inspire the sound you’re going for? Do you need a fully finished track, or are you looking for a rough idea to build on?

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: Look for someone who truly understands your artistic vision and brings their own unique creativity to elevate it. Chemistry in collaboration is everything—it’s not just about technical skill but also about finding the right creative match.

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: My laptop (with GarageBand or Logic Pro), A MIDI keyboard, some good headphones and a Mic - thats only 4

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I started my musical journey at a young age—I took keyboard lessons as a kid and have been singing for as long as I can remember. Music has always inspired me, and over time, I’ve developed my passion into something more structured. I’ve always been singing, and to refine my vocal technique, I’ve been taking private lessons. Now, I’m channeling all my creativity into production, songwriting, and building a career in the industry while studying Business & Project Management at CBS in Copenhagen.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: Melodic, cinematic, and emotionally driven. My music blends atmospheric textures with strong, memorable hooks, creating a sound that feels both intimate and expansive.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: Raye would be a dream collaborator—her songwriting is raw, her melodies are unique, and she pushes genre boundaries in a way I deeply respect. I’d love to bring my production ideas into her world and see what magic we could create together.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Don’t overcomplicate your arrangement—if the core idea is strong, it doesn’t need too many extra elements. Sometimes the best decision is knowing when to stop adding layers and let the music breathe.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: A mix of R&B, pop, alternative, and cinematic/electronic sounds. I love blending organic elements with digital production to create something that feels both fresh and timeless.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: Melody composition and vibe creation. I have an intuitive sense for what makes a song feel emotionally compelling, whether it's through chord progressions, vocal layering, or dynamic production choices.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: A strong melodic ear and an instinct for building emotion into a track. My productions often have a cinematic, atmospheric feel while still being grounded in modern pop, R&B, and electronic influences. I also bring a collaborative mindset—open to new ideas and always working toward the best version of a song.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: I start with a melody or chord progression that sets the emotional tone. From there, I layer percussion and textures, ensuring each element complements the overall feel. If working with an artist, I love adapting my beats to their vocal tone and storytelling. I’m always open to feedback and love refining ideas to make them as strong as possible.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: I produce in GarageBand using a combination of high-quality loops, DAW instruments, and MIDI controllers. I don’t have a professional studio yet, but I maximize my setup to create polished, dynamic productions. I’m actively looking to collaborate with professionals who can help refine my sound with mixing and mastering expertise.

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: I’m deeply inspired by artists and producers like SZA, Raye, and Diane Warren—women who redefine the industry with their creativity and vision. Their ability to craft timeless, emotionally powerful music motivates me to push my own sound further.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: I create beats and instrumental productions, either as standalone pieces or with song ideas in mind. My sound blends organic loops with DAW instruments, bringing depth and emotion to different genres. I'm open to collaborations, whether it's refining a track, adding vocal layers, or co-producing something fresh.
