Matt Katz of the Katz Cradle (www.thekatzcradle.com), excels at making records with bands and singers that sound like today while mixing in the attributes of classic records of the past. Matt loves to make records with lots of strings, horns, pianos, keyboards.
The Katz Cradle is a mobile studio where MK records, mixes and outsources to get the best possible result. I work with a wide range of musicians to get each record or client a unique record. Originally from NYC, now based in Portland, OR, I make rock, folk, dance, synth, classical, instrumental and R & B records. I am willing to go into any genre as long as the music is coming from a genuine source. I like mixing current icy, in the box production with classic , rich, organic textures. Real strings against a sequenced back drop, or dripping with reverb real guitars inside of a city of synths. Working off each records needs, I have a wide net of resources and studios to work at all to fit within each individual budget. I also am not afraid to try anything new! I also am available for keyboard work, backing vocals, arranging, part writing, drum and synth programming and score generation.
