Interview with Daniel Gregwah

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I've been doing Audio for over a decade in Live Sound. However, I'm now incorporating music production as a mix engineer in my career, which is adjacent to live sound.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: You never know till you try. If you choose me, I will assure you that I will do my best to bring your vision to reality. I will listen and cultivate the mix to how you want it. I'm here to support you. It's your music at the end of the day. Any flavour of mine will always be done to enhance the sound.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: Jazz Fusion, CCM, and Gospel

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital for the most part, digital for DAWs and plugins. Emulating hardware that represents analog hardware on any channel is a true advantage. However, I prefer analog workflow. I love being able to create an analog console in DAWs, which is why I use Luna. However, not all hardware is emulated, so an integration of it is still used. For Live, it would be Digital.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is to do my best to bring the artist's vision to reality in the mix.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love being able to mix and achieve the sound the artist is going for. Getting the mix at the place where it’s a representative of what the artist is envisioning.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: What’s the sound? Explain your vision to me.
