Orofino on SoundBetter

Are you looking for an artist to make your productions or ideas shine? I am the person for you. I have been a full-time producer for 5 years and work with great passion in people's art projects. My priority: making great music

About me:
I am originally from Catania, Italy, but I have been living in Bologna for 3 years. I work with clients all over Italy, but after a series of studies and hard work I decided to expand my horizons through Soundbetter. I play the piano, sing, but my strongest skill is programming and producing tracks from scratch.

As a job:
I can take your ideas/melody/demo lyrics and bring your song to life!
I strive to make your song shine with emotion, dynamics, and power that will immediately capture the listeners' attention!

Services:
- Mixing and Master
- Production of a song based on lyrics, demos or even a new song to be written!
- Keyboard and piano productions
- Pop vocal line productions

I know what it means to be the artist and I ALWAYS treat my clients the way I would like to be treated! Working with me is always fun,

Interview with Orofino

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I have just finished mixing two albums. One is in the "indie rock" style and the other is in the "RnB" style.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: I'm new here and don't know anyone, but I'm looking forward to collaborating with people who work in the music industry.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Given that I love both ideologies I love digital for its versatility, but when I need analogue, I rent studios with outboard gear if required.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: Let's have fun!

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Discovering a new sound, the happiness of the child inside me when I face a new challenge, and the happiness of the people around me when I do a great job.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: People often ask me how they can achieve the sound of "artist X Y Z", whom they aspire to be like. I try to provide them with all the steps they need to get there.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: I have never had any misunderstandings, only ongoing discussions with the people I work with. I communicate effectively and often discuss things with those I am dealing with to avoid misunderstandings.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: The first question is obviously "how can I help you," followed by "where would you like to take your music" or "what do you listen to" or "how would you like your project to sound" or "which artists inspire your music."

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: To have clear ideas about your musical project and the vision of the finished project.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Microphone, Laptop, Phones, Keyboard and Audio Interface

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I started playing the piano when I was a child. From that moment on, I became passionate about production and keyboards, and after lots of experience in the studio and on live stages, I started producing and recording people outside of my own artistic project.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: My style is human and delicate

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: I would love to work with Childish Gambino, because I think he has an incredible vision for his artistic project.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: Of course, I love adding stereo backing vocals to pop choruses to give them punch and character and to create the openness that a chorus needs.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: I work with a wide variety of music genres, such as: Pop, RnB, Hip Hop, Electronic, Singer-songwriter. I no longer like to define music as something

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: - My ability to empathise with the person in front of me and understand their real needs by listening. - Speed on Logic Pro (10 years' experience) - Playing the piano and keyboards - Singing

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: I consider myself to be an extension of the artist/artistic director's thinking. I just try to bring out the best in an idea, to bring order to the confusion of the creative process.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: For the production: My process consists of trying to find great musical harmony with the person in front of me. I want to know their favourite music and how they imagine their song. Once the vision has been established, the journey begins. This is the stage where I draw on my experience and try to stimulate creativity to the maximum in order to find unique ideas. For the Mixing: I have a much more concrete approach to mixing 1- reference track (always for a dialogue that involves the artist even at this stage) 2- I understand what the priorities are based on what my ears hear 3- make the songs sound damn good

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: My studio setup consists of: - Apple Mac Mini M2 Pro 32 GB RAM: this is the hub of all my work with Logic Pro X, which I have been using for 10 years now. - MOTU Ultralite MK5 sound card: this needs no introduction, it is a very solid card that provides excellent recording and listening quality. Listening As a mix engineer, I use different listening devices because I know how important it is for a track to sound good on any device, especially before reaching the mastering stage. - Sennheiser HD660 S2 headphones: incredible sound, allowing me to work with great focus during mixing - Kali Audio speakers: I love them especially for production, they are warm and reflect my personality - Micro ILoud IK Multimedia speakers: perfect for mixing everything from the midrange upwards. - Bose Sound Colour Bluetooth speaker: amazing sound but mono, for checking mono compatibility at all times Synth, Keyboards & Microphones for Production - Matrix Brute Arturia: one of the most beautiful synths designed by Arturia, it too needs no introduction, it just needs to be played - Nord Electro 4: my travelling companion for 12 years now - OC18 Austrian Audio: emulation of the famous akg414, it has absolutely nothing to envy its predecessor. Its balanced sound has captivated me
