I’m Zack Muxic an independent rapper, producer, and songwriter who creates soundtracks that speak. I take the most raw, unpolished ideas and shape them into genre-blurring, emotionally charged tracks whether it’s crafting custom jingles, Mixing Vocals or full hip-hop productions.

🎧 Produced tracks for DJ Ritik
🎙️ Engineered sessions for The East Rap Cypher Crew
🌀 Collaborated with Siyahi Collective & underground indie acts

What sets me apart? I don’t just make music; I create sonic experiences that demand attention. Blending cultures, experimenting with textures, and channeling raw emotion - every piece I produce is designed to evoke real feelings that resonate beyond the speakers. It’s not just about hitting play; it’s about leaving an impact.

🔁 Renowned for flipping scratch samples into layered, unforgettable bangers
🎤 Offering: Rap verses, hooks, beat production, vocal comping, full composition

With a meticulous attention to detail, energy, and storytelling, I build from my home studio, where each sound is crafted to move, inspire, and stay with the listener.

Interview with Zack Muxic

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of is a track called AISA KYU, which I wrote, recorded, and mixed. It’s a heartbreak track that gained a lot of attention, and seeing it connect with listeners was truly rewarding. Another project that stands out is MISHAP it was a turning point for me. The track opened doors to the industry, leading to valuable connections and opportunities that have played a huge role in my growth as an artist.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment, I’m working on mixing tracks for the East Cypher Group, a local rapper collective. I’m also putting in a lot of time on my own projects, developing an EP and an album that I’m really excited about.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I’d highly recommend Soumlya Mukherjee, a professional sound engineer with multiple degrees and extensive knowledge in the field. Although he’s not on SoundBetter yet, his expertise is unmatched, and I’m hopeful he’ll be joining the platform soon. His deep understanding of sound engineering makes him a true master in his craft.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I prefer digital DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) because of their versatility, precision, and efficiency. They give me the flexibility to experiment with different sounds, edit tracks seamlessly, and work quickly without sacrificing quality. While analog has its charm, digital allows for a more streamlined workflow, better control, and access to a wider range of tools and plugins, which is crucial for the sound I aim to create.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise to my clients is simple: I’ll always give my best, no matter the project. You’ll get my full dedication and creativity, every single time. And along the way, expect a few jokes to keep the process fun because great music should come with a little laughter too!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I love most about my job is the opportunity to discover new artists, explore different languages, and gain fresh perspectives. Each new experience expands my understanding and helps me grow as a songwriter, allowing me to craft more diverse and impactful lyrics. The constant exposure to different styles and ideas inspires my creativity and pushes me to continually evolve as an artist.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: I often get asked about rates and whether I can send a demo. While I totally understand the need to know upfront, it’s important to keep in mind that music is an investment. My rates reflect the time, skill, and creativity that go into crafting a track that resonates and stands out. Music isn’t cheap, but when done right, it’s something that makes a lasting impact. As for demos, I prefer to collaborate with you closely rather than sending a generic sample. Each project is unique, and I want to ensure the final product truly captures your vision.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that I might not be doing enough or that my work isn’t the best. But the truth is, it's all about constant learning and growth. Every project is an opportunity to improve, and I’m always evolving to create something better than the last. It’s not about perfection, it’s about progress.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What is the concept or theme of your track? How would you describe your style or the vibe you’re aiming for? Do you have any references or inspirations (artists, tracks, etc.) that you’d like to incorporate or draw from? Can you share any previous works you've done, so I can get a sense of your sound and direction? Are there any specific elements or sounds you definitely want included in the track?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice to anyone looking to hire a provider like me is to focus on the end product it’s not just about the process, but about creating something that resonates. While our perspectives might differ, open communication is key. The more we exchange ideas, the better we can bring your vision to life. Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and feedback, as collaboration leads to the best results.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: If I were on a desert island, I’d take Wi-Fi, a laptop, a subscription to a sample website, pen and paper for writing down ideas, and of course, a little bit of tacos to keep the vibes good while I create!

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: My journey started back in class 6, when I developed a deep love for rap music. While studying, I began diving into rapping and honing my skills. It’s been 7 years now, and I’m still learning from every up and down along the way, constantly evolving and refining my craft.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is multi-genre, with a strong emphasis on rap and its subgenres. I love blending elements from different styles whether it’s pop, lo-fi, or soundscapes to create a unique sound that stays true to my roots in hip hop while experimenting with new textures and vibes

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to work with Raftaar, not because of fame or money, but because of the immense knowledge he holds about rap and music. His depth of understanding and innovation in the genre is unmatched, and collaborating with him would be a priceless opportunity to learn and create something truly unique.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: To create a rich choir effect, cut the highs of a vocal track, layer it against the main vocal, then apply heavy reverb. Smooth out the peaks, add some autotune, and throw in a little reverse. This technique works great for building powerful choirs and adlibs, giving your tracks a full, immersive feel!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I specialize in Hip Hop and its subgenres, while also experimenting with Pop, Lo-fi, and Soundscapes for movie scores, blending emotional depth with unique textures

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Probably my ability to blend genres seamlessly to create a unique sound. I also take pride in writing lyrics that aren’t just filler they carry meaning, emotion, and depth. Whether it’s a verse or a hook, I aim to make every word resonate.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring a sense of fun and fresh creativity to every track. I don’t follow the traditional mixing rulebook instead, I experiment with unconventional approaches to make the sound stand out. Whether it’s layering textures or flipping expectations, I aim to make each song feel alive and unique.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: First, I listen closely and try to understand the vision and vibe behind the track. I put myself in the artist’s shoes asking, “If this were my song, how would I shape it?” From there, I start mixing, focusing on emotion, clarity, and cohesion until the track feels complete and true to its intent.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I don’t have a big studio just a pair of headphones, a laptop, and an unshakable urge to not be ordinary. My setup is minimal, but my creativity fills the gaps. It’s proof that passion and vision can outshine gear.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I'm highly inspired by Raftaar for his lyrical depth and genre-blending approach. I also constantly draw inspiration from emerging talents there’s always something fresh to learn. A big thanks to my mentor, Soumlya Mukherjee, a sound engineer and rap musician himself, whose guidance has shaped much of my musical journey.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I primarily focus on mixing and tuning vocals to sit perfectly within the beat, ensuring clarity, emotion, and punch. Whether it's rap, sung vocals, or layered harmonies, I specialize in creating a polished final sound that complements the production while maintaining the artist's raw energy.
