Sergio Berrios on SoundBetter

"Specializing in Reggaeton, Trap, Hip Hop, and Mambo, I offer high-quality mixing, mastering, and vocal tuning with fast turnaround. Whether you need a full mix, a polished instrumental, or vocal tuning in Melodyne, I deliver pro-level results in 4 hours or less."

I’m a 26-year-old music producer with over 10 years of experience and 3 years working professionally. I specialize in Reggaeton, Trap, Hip Hop, Mambo, and RKT, creating high-quality instrumentals and delivering pro-level mixing and mastering.

One of my unique strengths is real-time collaboration. Using Skype and Sonobus (Both programs are free) I can mix your tracks or create instrumentals live, letting you be part of the process as if we were in the same studio—no waiting, no surprises, just instant results tailored to your vision.

I’ve been immersed in Reggaeton since childhood, which gives me a deep understanding of the genre’s sound and feel. I can also craft intros for shows and mix songs of any genre as long as I have the stems.

I’m fluent in Spanish and can communicate effectively in English. If you're looking for a dedicated producer who works fast and brings your ideas to life in real time, let’s make something great together!

Interview with Sergio Berrios

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: What I love most about my job is meeting new people and building genuine connections. Making music is such a personal and intimate process, which is why I always strive to connect with my clients on a deeper level—more like friends or collaborators than just business partners. When you approach music purely from a utilitarian perspective—focusing only on money, streams, or royalties—it’s easy to lose the spark and authenticity that make art special. For me, it’s about creating something that not only my client and I can enjoy, but that also resonates with anyone who listens, even if they weren’t part of the creative process. Music isn’t just about numbers or financial success; it’s about emotion, connection, and expression. That’s what drives me to keep creating and collaborating.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Digital. Working 'in the box' gives me full flexibility and instant recall without needing tracking. It also allows me to work remotely from my laptop, making real-time changes for clients anytime, anywhere."

  5. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  6. A: Many clients often feel stressed about not knowing how long it will take to deliver a project. My mentor, a multi-platinum producer (The Mars Citizen), taught me the philosophy that it shouldn’t take more than 4 hours to finish a mix. Mixing is supposed to be about fixing details and polishing things—if it takes you 10 hours to mix a track, it’s because you don’t really know what you’re doing. I apply this mindset to my work, ensuring efficient and high-quality results without unnecessary delays.

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: I grew up listening to a lot of Musicólogo and Menes (producers for Daddy Yankee and many other Reggaeton artists). This gave me a solid foundation in creating Reggaeton that sounds like the 2010s style—heavier, with more complex melodies, similar to tracks by Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel, and others from that era. At the same time, I’m just as comfortable producing modern Reggaeton, which tends to be more minimalistic and less layered, like the sounds of Bad Bunny, Eladio Carrión, and other current artists. Being Latino and having been immersed in urban music since I was young gives me a deeper understanding of the genre. There’s a big difference between a Hip Hop producer making a Reggaeton beat and someone like me, who specializes in Reggaeton and truly understands its nuances. This background allows me to bring authenticity and versatility to every project I work on.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: I handle a wide range of tasks for my clients. During sessions, I often create instrumentals from scratch based on their ideas and references. Many clients come to me with a beat they found on YouTube and a clear vision of how they want the final product to sound—specific reverbs, delays, and other effects. Having a reference makes it so much easier to understand their vision and bring it to life. One of my strengths is my well-trained ear. I don’t rely on software to identify notes or harmonies, which allows me to work quickly and intuitively. For example, I can take a single vocal track and layer harmonies to make the chorus sound fuller and more impactful. My goal is always to enhance the artist’s vision while delivering a polished, professional sound.
