Interview with REYCRO
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Re-Branding my project and tryng to get placements with major artists
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both have their benefits, I am at a point where unfortunately I do not count on Analog gear myself, I know how to handle it, but I do not own it yet. The imperfections on it are great! But the digital domain have their percs also like quickness and all-in-a-box.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will never not be satisfy and that I will always deliver my best
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making music, which is what I love, and helping other artists achieve their goals
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is the vision that you got for this project? What are your expectations? Are there any deadlines to be met?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be clear and as expressive as you can be with what are you looking for, as well as attentive to times! It makes everything easier.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook Pro, A49 Keyboard, Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X, Shure SM7B, Apollo Twin X
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started this journey in 2017 when I first got my Pioneer We-Go without actually knowing how to mix, and less how to produce. From there and learning in my hometown how to DJ and Produce as an amateur, I found my way through the years to play in clubs in Veracruz, MX & Reims, FR. Eventually, landing in my dream school, ICON Collective, in Burbank, California for the past year and a half. More or less eight years since I started this journey as REYCRO
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Energetic, Danceable, Emotional
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: There are several that goes from producers to main artists such as Drillionaire, Lazza, Feid & Central Cee. The why can be extense, I have such a huge respect for these guys and is the music that I love the most. It is amazing to me how they manage to describe and express their thoughts through their music and that is one of the main reasons why I love their music, I feel related to it and their content.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: My main focus are Drill, Reggaeton, Hip Hop, Trap and RnB. But I am open to anything and capable of anything. Having attended ICON Collective Music School opened me ways to every type of music, including of course, all of the EDM realm.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Being multifunctional, I love all types of music and being a Mexican-Italian guy with influences mainly from these countries, lived in several others, and experiencing different cultures have made me able to open my mind to all types of music and ways to help a record suceed.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Rhythm, flavour & energy
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I prepare all my working sessions with time in advance, whether it is producing, mixing, or mastering, everything is set up and ready to go the night before I get my hands down on the gig or work I am doing on that day.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My main inspirations are Drillionaire, Lazza, Sfera Ebbasta, Central Cee, Feid, AVA, JustRoger
