Interview with Jadon Frederick

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: I promise to deliver high-quality, professional audio tailored to your unique vision. With technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence, I ensure a positive, seamless experience from start to finish. Your sound matters, and I'm dedicated to making it the best it can be.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Look for a provider that not only has strong technical expertise but also values your artistry and creative vision. Choose someone that is fun to work with, communicates well, and is genuinely invested in bringing your project to life.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: My formal education in audio engineering has equipped me with extensive technical skills and a strong understanding of industry best practices. Working on Music Row in Nashville has further shaped my approach to projects, deepening my expertise in studio production and broadening my professional perspective.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital is certainly the future of audio because it offers more flexibility, pristine quality, and ever-expanding capabilities. High-quality plugins are meticulously designed to emulate classic analog gear, capturing the same tonal characteristics with remarkable accuracy. Having worked with both analog EQs, compressors, reverbs, etc.—as well as their digital counterparts—I've found the differences to be minimal, making digital a powerful and practical choice for modern production.

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: I use the industry-standard process tailored to each phase of production. As a mix engineer, I start by importing the consolidated multitracks into ProTools, ensuring everything is organized. I then craft the mix, balancing levels, enhancing dynamics, and refining tonal balance. Once the initial mix is complete, I send the stereo mix to the client for feedback. After making any necessary revisions, I turn in the approved stereo mix and prepare all deliverables for a seamless transition to the next stage of production.
