What are you working on at the moment?
I am working on several track for the group Trybe out of Indiana and a personal Ep.
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
I've been working as an engineer for 2 years.
What's your strongest skill?
I have technical proficiency with pro tools.
What's your typical work process?
My typical process when I receive a song for mixing begins with verifying all the needed files are available and where they need to be. If there is a reference track available I will listen to that several times while taking note of song key, tempo if those aren't provided. I generally will use the vocals as the main focal point to create a volume level mix before moving on to editing timing issue, and general noise (clicks, pops, loud breathes, etc). Once those boxes are check I use a combination of effects, EQ shaping, compression, reverbs, and delays to make an awesome mix.
Tell us about your studio setup.
I am doing most of my mixing and post production editing in Pro Tool 12.4. I also make beats which is primarily done with the latest version of Logic Pro X and a M-Audio Code 49 midi Controller. I'm monitoring and mixing through JBL LSR305 5" monitors and Sennheiser HD 650 Headphone in a treated room. I'm mixing completely in the box with various plugins including analog emulations Waves, Sonnex, Plugin Alliance, SoftTube and more.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
Jaycen Joshua and MixedbyAli inspire me with their work ethic and the results they produce with artist that like Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar who I admire as artist.
