Operating from my own 450-square-foot recording studio, "The Guest Room," I offer session work on acoustic piano, vocals, acoustic rhythm guitar, synths, and atmospheric sounds. Additionally, I can bring in a team of expert session musicians to fill out your tracks with stand-up bass, electric bass, cello, electric guitar, drums, violin, male vocals, mandolin, banjo, and more.

Interview with Laura Rae
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Vocal arranging is my favourite part of producing a song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: One day of pre-production with the artist, coming up with sounds, arrangement, vibe. Then, session musicians come in to track their parts, working efficiently to ensure lowest cost possible for the artists I am working with. The next step is editing, tuning, quantizing, etc. to ensure a polished final product. Finally, a mix. Revisions are always welcomed, as the artist is included in every step of the process.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The Guest Room is a 450 square foot, 2 room music studio and rehearsal space in Nova Scotia. Instruments and such: Young Chang E101 Piano with felt mute, ROLAND JUNO DS 88 weighted key Synthesizer, Yamaha Stage Custom Drum kit, Sabian AAX cymbals, Baritone Cabronita Telecaster (single coil pickups), Traynor YGL2
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Full song production - from pre-production (where we work together to come up with style and arrangement ideas before session musicians come in to the studio to track), to sending off a mix for mastering.
