Professional production and mixing with an emphasis in rock/pop/indie genres - Let me level up your song!
Hey I'm Liam! Producer/engineer/musician based in Atlanta, GA. I have a love for all music, but especially the music that gets together a bunch of talented musicians in the same room to make magic happen. I'm a student of tradition, but I'm also not afraid to break the rules. The best music is yet to happen.
I work out of a couple different studios around town, notably including Grey Cat Sound which is equipped with an 56 channel AMEK Media 51 console with Neve-designed preamps and David Rochester modded channels. I'm a disciple of the hybrid workflow, utilizing the warmth of analog and the wizardry of Pro Tools. Whether it's tracking, mixing, mastering, or editing, I've got the resources to get the job done. As a producer/engineer, I've worked on rock, country, singer-songwriter, jazz, hip-hop, rnb and more.
Here are some notable artists I've mixed/engineered for:
Sachal Vasandani (recent album produced by 3-time Grammy Nominated drummer/composer Nate Smith)
Making Movies (2019 Latin Grammy Nominee)
La Lulu (2017 Latin Grammy Winner as member of Flor de Toloache)
The Bar-Kays (RnB group formerly the backing band for Otis Redding and several influential artists out of Memphis)
Trap Jazz (member Chris Moten toured with B.o.B., built bands for Joe Jonas, and Flo-Rida, performed alongside Jacob Collier, Greg Phillinganes, Quincy Jones)

Endorse Liam RavitaLiam is a phenomenal musician and an even better person. His infinite curiosity about all-things music makes him a pleasure to work with and a great hang; collaborating with him on recording projects has been such a positive experience because not only have I gotten top-quality recordings from him, I've gained valuable insight about the industry thanks to Liam's broad knowledge and positive personality. Liam recently recorded a wind octet of mine in a live performance; the successful recording shows that he is capable of capturing any kind of music in any environment as a quality recording.
Phenomenal musician and sound engineer. Played in a band with him in college, and he handled our live sound and recordings. His mixing skills are unparalleled, and he always put extra time into his projects to achieve professional quality. His musicianship is also on another level, as he was always able to play guitar and bass as a member of multiple groups at a time. Couldn’t recommend Liam enough.
Liam is an incredible musician, friend, engineer, and songwriter. Through my time knowing him he has exhibited a tenacity and love for what he does that I have rarely seen in engineers or musicians out there right now. He is patient, helpful, determined, and a consistent hardworker. I played music with Liam for 2 years before graduating and was lucky to do so. I would recommend him for any project you have going forward that you want to sound killer, he’ll get you there.
Liam is a remarkably gifted musician, song writer, and producer. His wide range of instrumental virtuosity and depth of knowledge across MANY genres and styles make him a high valued producer by any measure. His ability to work in and out of the box allows him to shape the sounds that his clients desire. Adding patience and strict attention to detail, Liam fits well on either side of the glass and will ensure a successful and satisfying outcome of any project. He comes with my highest recommendation.
Liam mixed a live recording of our band playing Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety and it sounded amazing
Really great guy! I went to school with him, and had him work on some projects of mine. Liam really knows his stuff.
Interview with Liam Ravita
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! Why not take the best from both worlds? I prefer to track and monitor on an analog console while recording into Pro Tools. You get that analog warmth and glue, while having the flexibility to manipulate audio in Pro Tools to your desire.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I grew up playing many different instruments including trumpet, piano, and guitar. In high school, I taught myself the basics of recording and producing music within a DAW, and eventually went to college to study Audio Engineering at the University of Alabama. I played in several bands that performed every weekend as a guitarist/singer/bassist, worked on live production teams, studied under mentors in professional recording studios, and wrote many songs. Moved to Atlanta and studied Music Production at Georgia State University. Began to work on major projects with Grammy nominated artists.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of Grey Cat Sound (south of Atlanta) equipped with a 56 ch AMEK Media 51 with David Rochester mod’ed channels and fully functional SuperTrue automation, Recall and Virtual Dynamics. Using a 24 ch Alesis HD24 and a Motu 24ao, we convert to digital for Pro Tools. We also have a Sony APR-24 24 track 2” tape machine. Studio layout has a control room with 2 iso booths, one built for drums, and the other for vocals or other instrument tracking.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I worked with the indie rock band Junkyard Cat as a tracking engineer and co-producer for their debut EP 'Where To Start/By Name/More Than Just Friends'. Since it's release in 2023, it has accumulated over 50,000 streams on Spotify and facilitated the bands rise in the Houston indie scene.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I absolutely love working with ambitious artists who aren't afraid to stray from the norm. Let's get creative, break rules, and create sounds no one has heard before!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Horns and strings make everything better!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly bands and songwriters of indie rock, indie pop, and indie folk.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am constantly inspired by Jack Antonoff's production work in blending indie, pop, and rock together with the artists Clairo, The 1975, Lorde, Sabrina Carpenter, Lana Del Rey, Florence + the Machine, and Taylor Swift. Very big fan of the composition and production of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen in Steely Dan, and all of Quincy Jones' career.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work is mixing/mastering remotely and producing/recording at studios in the Atlanta area.
