Interview with Vinicius - Maquiavel Music

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I created a project called Afro Love that I managed to sell to a client that he added to Beatport and achieved good numbers on Spotify.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment I'm improving myself more and more in afro house and mixing and master.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yes. LUCAS - SAVG

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Como eu trabalho mais com afro house, Eu gosto de mais analog ou organic. Pois, a música em si já pede mais esse feeling

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is to deliver work that the client will like and that they will want to do again

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: It certainly means having a deadline to deliver a job well done that the client likes and seeing the results.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: How long will it take to submit the work, If the work is getting good. It will take a long time to finish. You want to see the production before it is done.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I still can't treat this hobby like work

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What kind of music style is she looking for. What highlights did she want in the song, be it bass or piano. What kind of feeling does she want to convey to the public.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: I would advise that this person comes with a well-established idea at the beginning so that we can grow and finalize this idea.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My computer, my headphones, my Focusrite, Ableton and serum

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started studying music during the pandemic and became very interested in DJing. I became a DJ after the pandemic, but I always liked the production area more. In the music scene I managed to stand out, I got several contracts abroad, but I prefer to stay with my mother and end my career as a DJ and become a producer.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Underground and powerful.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Keinemusik. He is a person with great personality and perseverance in the music scene. He always had his authenticity during the years until he became famous. I certainly wanted to work with him to gain the insights that a lot can be created with little

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Of course. When you have an idea for a song, you open your project and write the piano first, adding the main chords. For Example : Am root note. After that, you make a basic chord progression and vary it as the track grows. It could be increasing the fifth or the third or even a ninth. Then you can create single note variations within the piano itself.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I'm working a lot more with afro house

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Piano and syhnts skills.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I try to bring a more underground feeling to the music with growth reaching its peak in the last drop. Generally my tracks are more in this itinerary

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: As I'm producing more afro house, I start with a kick on the song and start writing the piano part for the entire track. After I get the feel of the piano, I add the drums. After all that, I'll arrange the track together with the sthyns and bass. After that I create the ambiance of the song and finish with the effects.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio is made with a pair of Yamaha Hs5 monitors, K240 MKII AKG, focusrite and an Acer nitro V15

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: keinemusik, black coffee, &ME , Yamill , Vintage Culture, Alok, Rivvo.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Currently, I do more work on ready-made songs and gosht producer. Everything else related to afro house music.
