Hi! My name is David Montgomery Hoffman, I'm a vocalist, drummer, film composer and music producer. I was born and raised in NYC and studied film composing at Berklee College of Music in Boston before moving out to LA. Since arriving, I have scored a handful of award winning shorts, work as a live sound engineer at the world famous jazz club "the baked potato" , teach music and continue to pursue my own songwriting projects.
I like to approach every project by letting the individuality of the project and the artist shine through while paying close attention to details that make the project unique. I believe that collaboration is the best way to create something truly original, by combining two or more completely different backgrounds and experiences, being able to build upon one another is how new ideas are created.

Interview with David Montgomery Hoffman
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like to bring a certain aspect of modernism production and mixing no matter what style is being captured, i feel its the best way to address the overall audience.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some of my favorite Film composers include Ludwig Göransson, Michael Giacchino, John Powell and James Newton Howard. All of these composers have amazing ability to adapt from project to project in terms of sound while still maintaining integrity to their signature styles. When it comes to song production, I really admire producers such as FINNEAS, John Bellion and James Ellis Ford. These artists are all so good at creating textures and really putting you in a sonic world of their creation.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
