Interview with Hadywaleed

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: There’s a song by Begad Osama called 'Numero Uno,' where I produced the music. I really love this track because it reflects the reality of every young Egyptian. The music in it had a deep impact on me while creating it.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Projects within the Egyptian rap scene, including songs for Mousv and Marwan Pablo. Additionally, projects in the Egyptian pop scene, such as songs for the singer Rahal and also tracks for Mohamed Saeed, a well-known Egyptian pop artist.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Unfortunately, not yet.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: In my opinion, the decision on this matter depends on the type of project. If the project involves a mix of old-school and modern music, like rap, for example, then the older elements should be mixed using analog, while the newer ones can be done digitally. However, if we're talking about the most practical and cost-effective approach, digital is the way to go. As long as you have good hardware—such as a quality audio interface, microphone, and a powerful processor—you can achieve incredible sound quality. Yes, you might miss some of the warmth that analog provides, but that can be compensated using various plugins, like those from Waves. Additionally, some audio interfaces, like the Universal Volt series, come with built-in analog emulation effects during recording, allowing you to get a well-balanced sound at a much lower cost.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise to my clients is to deliver high-quality, unique music that perfectly aligns with their vision. I guarantee full dedication to each project, ensuring that every track is crafted with care, creativity, and attention to detail. I will always communicate openly, collaborate effectively, and make revisions when necessary to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the final result.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I love most about my job is the creative freedom it offers. I get to experiment with different genres, sounds, and techniques, constantly pushing the boundaries of my own creativity. I also enjoy the process of collaborating with artists and clients, helping to bring their visions to life through music. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how my work can connect with people emotionally and leave a lasting impact.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: The most common questions I get are: 1. How long will it take to complete my project? My answer: The time depends on the complexity of the project, but I always strive to deliver within a reasonable timeframe. I provide an estimated timeline after understanding the full scope of the work. 2. Can I provide specific references or ideas for my track? My answer: Absolutely! The more details and references you provide, the better. It helps me align with your vision and ensures I create something you’ll love. 3. Do you offer revisions if I'm not satisfied with the result? My answer: Yes, revisions are included in the package to make sure the final track matches your expectations. I’m here to collaborate and make adjustments until you’re fully satisfied. 4. Do you provide mixing and mastering as well? My answer: Yes, I provide full mixing and mastering services, ensuring that your track sounds polished and ready for release.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: One of the biggest misconceptions is that music production is just about creating beats or tracks. In reality, it involves a deep understanding of sound design, arrangement, mixing, and mastering. It’s not just about making something sound good; it’s about crafting a unique identity for the music, blending creativity with technical expertise. Many people also don’t realize how much collaboration and communication go into delivering the final product, especially when it comes to aligning with the client’s vision.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask the following questions to understand the project better: 1. What is the overall mood or vibe you're aiming for in this project? 2. Are there any specific genres or reference tracks you'd like me to follow? 3. What kind of sound elements do you want to incorporate, such as voice samples, environmental sounds, or specific instruments? 4. What is your deadline for this project? 5. Do you need mixing and mastering services in addition to the production? These questions help me get a clear idea of the direction and requirements, ensuring I deliver exactly what the client is looking for.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice would be to clearly communicate your vision and expectations from the start. The more details you can provide, such as your preferred genres, reference tracks, and specific sound elements, the better. It's also important to trust the creative process—collaboration is key. Working together, we can craft something unique and tailored to your needs. Lastly, be open to revisions, as this ensures the final product aligns with your vision.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: I'll take my laptop, headphones, audio interface, and microphone in case I need to use my voice as a sample or capture sounds from my environment to sample as well. I'll also bring a small MIDI controller.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: My career started when I began working in music in 2013. Since then, I’ve learned a lot and worked with most of the rap artists in Egypt, building many relationships along the way thanks to my music.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is best described as diverse and effortlessly complex. I never like to stick to one genre—I always seek to learn and master different types of music, even the unconventional ones.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Travis Scott, without a doubt, because he loves experimenting, and with every album, we are surprised by new and innovative music.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: The advice I always give to anyone starting in this industry is to be patient, stay focused, and learn something new every day. No one is ever too advanced to keep learning—no matter how skilled or famous they become. Continuous learning is essential because without it, your style will become outdated, and you won’t be able to keep up with an industry that evolves every day.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I work across a wide range of music genres, delivering professional-quality production in each one. However, my favorite styles to produce are Trap, Drill, and Future Bass. These genres allow me to experiment with unique sound design, hard-hitting drums, and deep atmospheres while maintaining a high level of creativity and precision.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is my ability to blend creative sound design with high-quality music production across multiple genres. I excel at crafting unique sounds that give each track a distinctive identity while ensuring top-tier mixing and mastering for a polished, industry-standard finish. Whether it’s Hip Hop, Trap, EDM, House, Techno, Classical, Latin, or Oriental music, I bring versatility and innovation to every project, making sure the final product stands out and resonates with the audience.
