Hi, I’m Humberto Estrada, a producer and mixing engineer based in Mexico City with a passion for crafting unique, polished tracks. With years of experience playing piano, working with a wide range of synthesis techniques, I bring both technical skill and creative vision to every project. Music is more than a job for me—it’s my passion and the driving force behind everything I do.
Specializing in alternative and electronic sounds, I love exploring new textures and sonic possibilities to help your music stand out. I combine my classical foundation in piano with expertise in modern production tools, blending organic and synthetic elements seamlessly. Interview with Humberto Estrada
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Recently I produced and arranged a song for a friend. I'm really proud of this track because I get to use a many of my abilities and I realised how much I am capable of.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm producing a jazzy song for a friend that hopefully will be released soon!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: A couple of friends that are great mixers and producers.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Because both have unique advantages and benefits.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That their production is going to be exactly like they dream it!

A: The fact that I get to know people that also love music.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "Do you understand what I need?" A: With clear communication I won't have any problem.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That anyone can play piano.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you wanna do? What do you want me to do? Do you believe in your art?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I am here to guide you and take the best out of you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My computer, a synth, a pair of headphones, my MiniLab 3 and my audio interface.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've doing this for 5 years now. I play piano since I was 8, then I learnt guitar and when I turned 20 I started to produce music and I entered in one the best schools of music in Mexico City, Rec Música Centro de Estudios Musicales.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Alternative, experimental and obsessive.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with Finneas because he's an awesome producer and I'm convinced that I could create a great arrangement for one of his songs.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: It's always record as good as possible that try to fix everything during the mixing process.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Alternative, jazz, RnB and cinematic.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Synthesis

A: My unique taste and I help to create a clear concept
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a MacBook Pro M4 that is the main piece of my studio. I have a Focusrite 8i6. A couple of SM57's, one SM7B, a Yamaha Clavinova Piano, a Yamaha MODX8 synth, a Korg Minilogue xd synth, drums, Fender Bass and guitars, a MiniLab 3 Yamaha HS7 studio monitors and 2 pairs of headphones Audio Technica.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm deeply inspired by Finneas, Billie Eilish, Radiohead, Thom Yorke, Gorillaz, Damon Albarn, Jack White, Mac Miller and Sam Petts-Davies.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce tracks, record keyboards and synths, and compose professional and specialised arrangements.
