Interview with Ruslan Perezhilo
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Expressive, detailed, seeking authenticity and opening emotional worlds, sophisticated moods or a special atmospheres.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Cinematic, symphonic and hybrid, ambient, modern classical, piano, romantic, wedding music, film soundtrack, electroacoustic, cross-genre intelligent electronic music and chill/downtempo genres.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Piano production (neolcassical, nordic, romantic, chillout, ambient cinematic, as well as keyboards for songs), cinematic music for various media, advanced music editing and mixing (such as efficiently combining several various tracks in a trailer and mixing with FX and voiceovers), original soundtrack writing (see my IMDB for partial film works list).
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. I understand the fun of having the real knobs. But I like being in total control, recall, modify, replicate any element of production to refine it. And even with pianos - I love a real big grand under my fingers when performing live. But in the studio having the choice of dozens of instruments with their particular characters (instead of one, no matter how luxurious, acoustic piano) is just so liberating for creativity.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Sincere emotional communication through music backed up by my high-level academic education.
