Interview with Ben Bledsoe
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Lots of chill singer songwriter such as Lizzy Mcalpine or Gracie Abrams. I also work on some pop like Bruno mars/ Silk Sonic, or some Worship/CCM projects!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Tracking bass and producing are my strongest skills.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my sound and what I think feels good! My sound/vibe is not for everybody, so make sure to check out my Spotify playlist to make sure you like what I bring to the table!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to listen to the song idea a few times wether I am just tracking or producing, I like to listen and see what I hear that isn't there. And then I do my best to create what I hear and let myself be inspired with new ideas along the way.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a cozy bedroom studio, but don't let that fool you, I have the ability to track a full band! We just might be a little bit cramped haha. I have many different basses and guitar ranging from modern to vintage paired with all the great plug ins and softwares every pro relies on!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Greatly influenced by Mason Stoops, Ian Kirkpatrick, and Paul McCartney
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I commonly take a clients voice memo or song idea and turn into a full production thats ready for Spotify and Apple Music!
