I record from my personal studio using high-end gear, ensuring that you're getting clean, mix-ready vocals. My goal is to provide a high-quality, collaborative experience and to work on your project until you're completely in love with the final result.
Looking forward to creating something unforgettable with you.

Interview with Ayo

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: The thing I love most about my job is the ability to connect with people through music. Every song is an opportunity to tell a new story, and I thrive on bringing emotions to life through my voice. Whether I’m working in the studio or performing live, the energy exchange with the audience or the artist I’m collaborating with is incredibly fulfilling. It’s about creating something that resonates on a deeper level, and that’s what keeps me inspired.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: When hiring a vocalist like me, I recommend looking for someone who not only has the technical skill but also an understanding of the emotion and vibe you want to convey. Communication is key — the more you share about your vision, the better I can bring it to life.

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: 1. My microphone – Can’t live without it! :)) 2. My SSL2+ – Gotta make sure my sound quality is top-notch. 3. A guitar – Great for songwriting and staying creative. 4. My Mac 5. DT770 headphone

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I’ve been singing professionally for over 3 years. My journey started in Nigeria, where I performed as a backing vocalist and session singer for various artists. After moving to the UK on tour, I’ve had the privilege of working with legendary drummer Steve Gadd, performing on the Royal Yacht Britannia, and many other artists. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on honing my voice, creating soulful music, and collaborating with incredible talent across genres.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I typically work on Afrobeat, Afro-Soul, R&B, House, and Pop projects, but my voice is versatile enough to adapt to other genres like Jazz, and Soul.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: My strongest skill is my ability to create depth and emotion through harmonies. I’m skilled at crafting layered vocal arrangements that bring richness and movement to a track. Whether it’s adding lush background vocals or arranging complex harmonies, I know how to enhance the mood and make the vocals the standout element without overpowering the song. This, combined with my strong emotional delivery and ability to adapt to various genres, is what I bring to every project

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: I bring soul, emotional authenticity, and musical intuition. My voice isn’t just about hitting notes — it’s about telling a story and translating feeling. I layer harmonies with purpose, shape phrasing to suit the genre, and use dynamics to build connection. Whether it’s a vulnerable ballad or a high-energy Afro-fusion track, I know how to bring the right tone, texture, and vibe to make your song hit emotionally and sonically.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: My typical work process is collaborative and client-focused. Once I receive your track and reference materials, I’ll have a quick discussion with you about your vision, emotion, and vocal style preferences. Then I get to work in my studio, recording lead vocals, harmonies, and any vocal arrangements needed. I send a draft for feedback within 48 hours (or sooner), and include up to two free revisions to make sure you're 100% happy. Once approved, I deliver clean, tuned stems — ready to mix.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: My original music is quite afrocentric but I'm excellent at other genres.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: Raye - She's a musical genius. Her songwriting, production and vocal delivery are second to none.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: Listen to the sound within and sometimes your first idea is the best, don't trash it.

  23. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  24. A: I record in a professional recording studio called Banana Row Studios in Edinburgh, they have loads of amazing gear including a Neumann u87 AI mic for recording, powerful Preamps like API, Neve, Fearn, Solid State Logic, plus Focusrite clarette+ 4 pre interface, DT770 headphone, Yamaha Ns-10m studio monitors etc and I have my home studio as a backup.

  25. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  26. A: I'm inspired by several musicians from Nigeria and beyond, including Tems, Raye, Ogi, Asa, Adele, and Simi, to name a few.

  27. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  28. A: The most common work I do is writing and singing soulful, Afro-inspired songs for clients. This includes layering vocals and harmonies for full effect, singing lead vocals for all genre from pop to Rnb, House, Jazz, soul etc, session singing, songwriting, creating custom songs for special projects, and creating theme songs for brands.
