Interview with Luke Kucharski
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am always recording and creating soundscapes and music in my home studio using various acoustic and electronic music, with the common incorporation of field recordings. I am more than happy to work with you on your project.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The ability to work with other incredible people to create something impactful and interesting.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I work purely in music. As an Audio Engineer and Sound Designer I work in podcasts, film and television, foley, video games, audiobooks, audio content, and educational projects - just about anything involving sound.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working in Digital Audio Workspaces for a decade now. I have worked in a number of creative fields, though music and audio have been my truest passion for as long as I can remember.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Intentional, meticulous, intricate, and overall a labor of love.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Ambient, Post Rock, Singer-Songwriter, Neo-Classical. Though I am more than happy to work in any genre or style!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am always exploring and learning from myriad genres and styles, though I particularly enjoy Ambient music from artists such as Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, Stars Of The Lid, and Hiroshi Yoshimura.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I assist in the editing, post-production, intricate sound design, and polishing and cleaning-up of music, audio tracks, and podcasts. I also offer soundtracks and original scores or jingles for film, video, and podcast, as well as provide recording and production advice.
