I’m a music producer, artist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Sheffield, UK. At 14, I became one of the youngest producers featured on BBC Radio.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with top industry professionals, including a Grammy-nominated producer, and working across genres like Pop, Indie, EDM, Cinematic, and R&B. My journey includes studying at BIMM Institute, meeting with Universal Music Publishing UK, and having a song distributed to A&Rs connected to Warner Music. I’ve also produced for a songwriting camp in London.
I started with DJing and playing multiple instruments from a young age, including Guitar, Piano, and Clarinet. My guitar skills were honed by the same tutor who taught Jamie Cook of the Arctic Monkeys. In 2017, I performed at the Royal Albert Hall with Sheffield Music Hub, marking the beginning of my professional music career.

Interview with Luciøus
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People seem to easily misunderstand the role of a music producer of my ability, assuming that I use pre-made melodies, vocal chops etc from sample distributers such as Splice or Cymatics. I am all about creativity and authenticity so I will never import these types of melodies during production. I just won't feel satisfied knowing it wasn't my work.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: There are many questions I like to ask my clients during a collaboration in order to get the best out of them and the best out of the production. For example my questions could range from "How would you like your vocal to appear in the mix?" or "I think this melody or harmonic could work? let me know your thoughts"
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just invest a bit of time into looking up the provider to ensure, even reach out on social media asking for some examples and what you are exactly looking for.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop with a DAW, a guitar, an MXL microphone and a plectrum... if it doesn't suddenly vanish that is.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career began as an instrumentalist, playing instruments from a very young age and performing in a Jazz Band until 2018, where I explored music production... and have been loving it ever since.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on Pop and EDM music. But recently, I have worked on new genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is producing, closely followed by guitar playing
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I love to bring a lot of atmosphere, life and spirit into music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Every collaboration is unique in their own way, but typically I like to start with any rough demos or voice recordings of a song that the artist has and build the track around it! There is always something useful and inspirational in every recording.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am the producer for a singer-songwriter's debut single, that has just been Mastered by a Grammy-nominated record producer and has been the topic of discussion in a private meeting with Universal Music Publishing UK.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working with a few artists around Brighton, fully producing their songs including mixing and mastering.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Growing up in a digital generation of music and audio engineering, I will likely always stick to this despite having experience in analog recording studios.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: When I get to work with you, I will ALWAYS be respectful of you, respectful of you're work and respectful of your music. I strongly adhere to the idea that collaborations are non-existent without respect for each others craft and professionalism
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I absolutely love the creative freedom that comes with being a music producer, from composition to exploring unique sounds. Furthermore I love the constant challenge of mixing, and the satisfaction for when you achieve a great mix.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Undoubtedly, I would describe my sounds as being very atmospheric and unique.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My main inspiration for getting involved in music production was Norwegian producer, Jonas Aden (now Aden Foyer).
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce music across a wide variety of genres ranging from Pop and EDM to atmospheric Film & TV-focused compositions. As well as producing, I also have lots of experience in songwriting so I will often assist songwriters with instrumental parts to their song that I can later translate into the mix during the production process.
