Versatile cellist based in Bologna, Italy, specializing in soundtrack, pop, rock and jazz. Expert in string arrangements and cello composition, I can perform live at events or record professional cello tracks for your songs from my professional studio. Freelancing worldwide, I bring passion and precision to every project
I'm a versatile cellist and composer with a classical foundation and a broad stylistic range, spanning jazz, pop, rock, musical theater, and film scoring. I've performed live and in studio with leading Italian artists such as Jovanotti, Tozzi, Bersani, Annalisa, Diodato, Carboni, Irene Grandi, Ermal Meta, Nek, and Noemi, and have extensive experience with orchestras and chamber ensembles across Italy.
From my professional home studio, I offer high-quality remote cello recordings tailored to your musical needs — whether it’s a delicate solo line, rich string layers, or a full quartet arrangement. I'm specialized in string arranging, particularly for string quartets, and can provide original arrangements or parts for your existing material, combining precision, musicality, and expressiveness.
As a composer, I blend the emotive depth of the cello with modern electronic textures to craft cinematic, introspective music suitable for film, advertising, and visual storytelling. My work is regularly shared on Spotify, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. I also perform with electric cello, bringing a distinctive contemporary tone to any track.
I use Logic Pro and top-tier microphones and preamps to deliver pristine, mix-ready audio. I'm committed to making your music shine, whether you're a producer, songwriter, or filmmaker seeking an evocative, high-impact cello sound.

Endorse Tiziano GuerzoniI had a project with a tight deadline and needed a well-recorded cello part remotely. Tiziano responded quickly, understood exactly what I was looking for, and sent me a beautiful, emotional track in no time. Warm tone, expressive playing, and no need for endless revisions. Clearly someone who knows how to work efficiently and professionally from a distance.
Incredible attention to detail, flawless sound, and perfect communication. I needed a cello track for one of my songs, and Tiziano delivered exactly what I was hoping for and more. The audio was perfectly recorded, mix-ready, and the performance brought life to a part of the song that felt flat before. I’d work with him again in a heartbeat.
Interview with Tiziano Guerzoni
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I composed and recorded an original piece used in a national ad campaign — the cello theme became the emotional core of the brand message. It was deeply rewarding to see music support storytelling at that level.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m recording cello parts for an indie artist’s acoustic EP, composing music for a short film, and preparing my next solo release for Spotify.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet — I’m new to the platform, but I look forward to building connections with talented collaborators.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for flexibility and recall — but paired with analog warmth from good mics, preamps, and real performances.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To deliver professional, expressive recordings that elevate your music — always on time, always with care and attention to detail.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Bringing stories to life through sound. I love how a cello can speak without words and move listeners emotionally, across genres and contexts.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They often ask: “Can you match this style?” My answer: Absolutely — just send me a reference, and I’ll adapt tone, phrasing, and dynamics to fit. Cello fits EVERYWHERE!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That strings are easy to “just add.” In reality, they require careful integration to sound organic and enhance — not clash with — the track.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask about the song’s mood, purpose, references, technical specs (tempo, key, length), and whether they want me to write or follow an existing arrangement.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to their previous work and communicate your vision clearly. A great provider will bring musicality and reliability — not just technical skills.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My cello, a Neumann TLM 103, RME Babyface Pro, MacBook with Logic Pro, and a solar-powered battery — ready to record anywhere!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I trained classically and performed with orchestras and major pop artists, gradually expanding into composition and remote recording. I’ve been doing this professionally for over 10 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Warm, cinematic, and expressive — grounded in classical technique, but open to experimentation and modern textures.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with Jon Hopkins — his fusion of organic and electronic sounds is fascinating, and the cello could bring an emotional layer to his sonic world.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: When layering strings, vary your dynamics and articulation between takes — it adds realism and prevents the “sampled” feel, even with real instruments.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I often work on cinematic, pop, indie, and ambient music, as well as singer-songwriter and orchestral-based projects.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Musical sensitivity — I understand how to enhance a piece without overpowering it, adapting my tone, phrasing, and arrangement to the music’s needs.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Emotion, texture, and authenticity. The cello adds depth and soul to a track, and I make sure it fits musically and narratively within the project.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by discussing the client’s vision and reference tracks, then I record a draft to align on tone and emotion. Once approved, I deliver the final takes, fully edited and ready to mix.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record from my treated studio equipped with a Neumann TLM 103, RME Babyface Pro interface, and Logic Pro. I use high-quality preamps and a range of mics to capture the warmth and nuance of the cello.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by Max Richter, Ólafur Arnalds, and Nils Frahm for their blend of classical instruments and modern production, and by Yo-Yo Ma for his versatility and emotional depth.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Recording expressive cello tracks — solo lines, layered textures, or full quartet arrangements — and composing original music for film, advertising, or artist projects.
