Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Chakra Kahn's lastest album is called The Cope Asthetic. This was the first time I mastered music for an international artist, DiVinci the producer & Chakra did an amazing job with this album along with audio engineer
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Mixing & mastering a 10 track album for a local hip hop artist. Mastering a 10 track rock album & mastering another album for an international rap artist.

A: Hybrid
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: When customers comment on how amazing the mastered music sounds
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: You can get the same results by mastering yourself

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I originally started recording 16 years ago as a hobby being a musician, along the years it was harder & harder getting a band together so I started working on production with evolved into mixing & now mastering
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Dr Dre as he has inspired many generations of artists with his production, sonwriting & mixing skills.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Follow your heart, if something doesn't sound right change it, don't just fix it in the mix.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: A large range of music from hip hop to rock to acoustic folk.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Honesty & dedication to ensure the music exceeds the artists expectations.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Experience, a good ear with a great listening environment & class A equiptment.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For mastering it depends on the clients vision & what the song requires but my standard signal chain is usually Forrsell D/A to SSL Matrix, to GML 8200, to Shadow hills master Compressor to Manley Passive or Kush clariphonic, to Handsome audio Zulu (new outboard tape emulation technology) to Forrsell A/D & into new UA Sonnox Limiter to check overal levels. I also tend to use Brainworks EQ for M/S before hitting the console in most cases.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a room within a room studio which took a lot of time to design, build & construct. It has been an evolution of many years & the list of outboard equiptment has been gradually growing with my experience.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I get inspired by many different artists & genre's.
