Interview with SinCreationStudio
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My first music video clip ..me and my client had this idea long long time ago when Eminem came out as Rap God we made a song called Rap Devil as he can rap amazingly fast ... ( imagine how heart broken i was when rap devil came out after 2 years.. i wish i uploaded our idea first) and i had no idea how to use camera or green screen or VFX.... i ve made a prop with my awesome dad (still miss you) then done a video shoot with a client .. spend editing the video on my free time only , for 2 years nearly got it done and then i lost everything my drive gave up... so i started from beginning and after few years finished it .. had to learn about VFX in hitfilm , Unreal Engine 4.27 (rendering 40 sec video for 18hr lol just to find out i placed something wrong and i have to render it again,,, ), Davinci resolve ect so yhea if your interested how it turned out YouTube Remedy "Rap Devil" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1t4_y15r4M
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I have few songs i mixing, and im also working on few music video clips as well.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: i know there are soooo many amazing talented producers with better equipment and who worked with famous people i can only dream of, and if your looking for that specific signature sound they make i would recommend go to them as you might be wasting money on somebody else to re create that sound your after, in the end its your song and your vision.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both , you can't reproduce analog tube warmh with digital , and sometimes you can't afford analog but you can buy digital VST.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Your music, Your way,
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: the actual songs , hearing soooo many amazing different talents each day.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How much will it cost , and honestly i can set a price and that is it but i like to help upcoming artists who just want to finish their song and show it to friends to be proud of it and this is why i decided that each project will depend , it depends how many tracks there is how many Stem's each track has what's the budget that client can pay ect.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I can't fix recording mistakes... If i get vocals that are hot ( meaning they are clipping and recorded badly) i can't fix that .
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What your idea is what do you want to accomplish?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Give it a go , tell me what your idea is and lets work and build up on it, if you don't like it there is always revisions until your happy with the end product.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Oooff .. not survival gear? im not sure.... my logical side is thinking.. do i have power and internet available ? if i do then i would have to say Computer ( with all things monitor keyboard ect) umm avalon compressor my limited ed microphone, my motu 896 mk2
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Very very long time , i started when i was 10 playing around with magic music maker , then when i was around 19 i was a dance trance Dj ( Still have my decks ! ) i hosted a radio show for a while and meet allot of artists who liked my music i produced so then i went to School for Music Production II i was lucky as i was in top of my class i was able to skip courses III and IV and apply for Diploma in Music Technical Production where i finished with a Merit Award and here i am now in my own recording studio writing this and felling like celebrity lol
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Easy going , as long as the client is relaxed they can get into the "zone" and you can get the best vocals out of them.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Any to be honest , i just love recording and mixing songs
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Ask what the clients wants what's their idea, work with them and help them achieve that.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip hop,Rap,R&B
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Recording , mixing songs, helping with lyrics if needed
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: What client wants
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually get clients in my recording studio and spend time planning what the client wants out of this session then spend at least 30 min getting client to relax when recording to get them into the "zone" then start recording , after the client is happy with recording i do mixing of the song, once when its completed i send it to client to verify if there is any revisions that needs to be changed after client is happy i do standard mastering
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Where to begin ... i started off with just audio card , basic mic and basic computer that still had cd drive and floppy disk lol as my studio is always upgrading at the moment i have Warm Audio 8000 mic (for hip hop and rap), RODE Limited Edition Classic II Tube (Same mic used on Adele's first album) , Avalon 737 as mic pre amp and compressor , JBL 4328 monitors, motu 896 mk2 ,novation 49 keyboard mk3 and PC is a threadripper 3990x 64 cores heaps of VST's , as DAW i use Cubase and for making music Reason.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Actually none there are SOOOO many amazing talented producers but each one of them has their own signature sound and i don't want to sound like them, for me each client is different and i do mixing and producing based on the individual client / song
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
