Hi, I am a Keyboard song producer, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I am a full time musician, with nearly 25 years of experience playing in bands and recording in studios for independent and commercial projects, covering a wide multi-genre spectrum ( rock, pop, electro, soul, funk, neo soul, reggae, folk, acoustic, jazz, songwriter, etc).
I like to elevate other artist’s work doing keyboard production to their work; not just recording the instrument that I am asked for, but helping to enhance the song by thinking it as a whole, and finding what each song needs to reach its highest level of emotion, impact, or whatever it is aiming to.
I give my best to do it with taste, sensitivity, quality ( I have a little collection of modern and vintage analog synths, in a professional studio ), and attention to detail.

Interview with Agustin Durañona

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was the de facto producer of what then was our second album of group I was member, we had some goodbudget to make a good production. I started just on the keayboard area, by ended up leading the general artistic view of the record.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I ve been recording pianos and strings for a songwriter from my country, Argentina.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, but analog is more fun for keyboards.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I work always at my best, music is always to be honoured
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That it is very enyoable every day
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How much does it takes me to finish a track; my answer is: it depends, usually each one deserves a different labour in a way.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I am not just a keyboardist, or pianist, I have a production perspective as a whole.

A: What do you intend to achieve, what do you think the track lacks?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just try me, and evaluate when you hear the results.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: An acoustic piano, a Prophet synth, an acoustic guitar, a mic, and a hi end Tascam portastudio.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing and studing music aprox in 1997, played in several bands ( still do today), in 2010 I started working an producing in a professional studio as the house keyboardist.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Eclectic.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Fiona Apple and produce a comeback album of her.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be aware, at the same time, to the little details and to the overall picture and its artistic impact.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Songs, pop, soul, acoustic, modern.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Sensitivity and taste
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My aim is to raise its potential at all levels, through keyboard production, arrangement and tracking, but doing it with a producer's point of view, not only as an intrumentist ( though takes should be spicy ).
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I meet the musician or author of a song, and he explains me what he needs to achieve in its porduction, then I start to work, offering several glances of the direction I'm going, along the way. Only when the clients are satisfied we reach the end.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: A professional studio, running UAD Apollo Symphony, Pro Tools Studio, Neve 1073LB Preamp, Avalon 2022 Preamp, with many vintage and modern hardware synths, sequencers, samplers, a collection of pedals, as well as the latest vst instruments and in the box tools.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: A lot.. I can name you an assorted list of musicians, or producers that come to my mind: Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson, Mark Ronson, Phil Ramone, Vulfpeck, Sly Stone, Tyler the Creator, Julian Casablancas, Kevin Parker, Pharrell Williams...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do whole keybard production of tracks, arranging and recording every instrument.
