I’m classically trained with a music degree from Belmont University, but I’m well-versed in improvising and composing string parts for a vast array of genres. My goal is to use strings to complement your song, never to overpower it. It’s not about writing the most complex part so much as it is about being tasteful, emotive, and intentional in every note I play.
I also take pride in my engineering. I pay careful attention to mic placement, being sure to capture just the right balance of rich resonance and bright, airy bow sound. I will never send you tracks that clip, my silences are always cleaned up, and my fades are seamless.
One thing to note is that I do not play violin or viola. However, I can write the arrangement for a full string section (violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello) and then send the parts to one of my trusted colleagues to record, or to whatever other players you choose to hire.
