Veteran AUDIO to MIDI file Producer | 30+ Years of Musical Excellence

Specializing in professional-grade MIDI sequences since 1992, I offer precise, genre-versatile AUDIO to MIDI conversion services for musicians at all levels. With roots as a musician since 1984, I bring authentic musical sensibility to every project.

Harness the power of music in MIDI format
A super musical file, multitrak, multi-instrumental

Whatever your level, your style of music, your instrument, your project, whether amateur or professional, MIDI is the ideal format, because it contains all the information you need to practice music.

Total control over every instrument
The playing of each instrument is transcribed onto an individual track. You can edit each note individually, with the sound of your choice.

Total control over every note
Each note can be edited ad infinitum.

Total control over the mix
A MIDI file contains volumes, pans, modulation and even effect settings.

Total control over time
Time, tempo and signature information are permanently integrated into all MIDI sequences, regardless of song position. This is ideal for synchronizing your MIDI file with external elements or other software.

100% music-compatible
Our SMF sequences in MIDI format are GENERAL MIDI and compatible with 100% of all MIDI music software DAWs (regardless of version or platform) and hardware, keyboards and arrangers (GM, XG, GS, GM2 Pa series).

Interview with Laurent WALKER-HAVETTE

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I converted music by famous artists from the 80s, who had lost their MIDI sequences or had never converted their work to MIDI. They all enjoyed rediscovering their work and making it their own.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Yes, and for 30 years.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: As MIDI has neither sound nor graphic data, I'd be tempted not to answer. But, as a musician first and foremost, I have much more emotion with analog, which is much more organic and "alive".

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: Enjoying the art of music and knowing that a MIDI sequence is a raw material

  9. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  10. A: Can I have the separate tracks? My answer is always: YES!

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Respect the way instruments play: on a control keyboard, a brass section is not played in the same way as a flute or a rhythm guitar.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Almost all musical genres

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That it's an easy, free job that any DAW can do.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Converting music to MIDI is a rare skill. You need to know how to play an instrument, of course, but above all you need to know how to listen to and interpret all the subtleties, instruments and sounds present in a piece. It is therefore essential to listen to examples of transcription (original and MIDI version).

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I started making music the same year that the MIDI standard was created.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: The absolute ear (and I have 2 ;)

  23. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  24. A: Respect for the original title.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: Sensitivity

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: For MIDI transcription, there is an initial listening phase and a "situational setting" in relation to the musical genre. There is no automation or A.I. Everything is played "manually".

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: All my musical equipment, from the most vintage (and exotic) to the most recent, is connected in MIDI.

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: I've always had a preference for film music and sound illustration.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: What sets my work apart is the authentic musical feel I bring to MIDI conversion, drawing from my experience as a musician since 1984 and my deep understanding of various musical styles. Each sequence is meticulously crafted to sound natural and serve its intended purpose, whether it's for studio recording, live performance, or practice.
