Kyranør on SoundBetter

🎶 Sound Engineer | Composer | Arranger 🎶 Music is my passion. I love being creative, shaping sounds, and bringing ideas to life. Whether mixing, composing, or arranging, I strive to elevate your music with heart, originality, and expertise.

My work is all about bringing sound to life, turning musical ideas into tracks that inspire and move people. I specialize in mixing, editing, and, if needed, mastering, ensuring every song sounds its absolute best.

As a composer, I can create a track from scratch or develop an idea, a chord progression, or an existing melody. While primarily a guitarist, I’m also skilled with other instruments, including piano and drums, and I’m a talented singer. This versatility allows me to enhance productions with unique details and adapt to any creative vision.

I work across a wide range of genres: from Rock and Metal to Pop, Acoustic, and Symphonic, as well as electronic styles like Synthwave, which I’m particularly passionate about. I also have a special love for Folk, which I incorporate into my arrangements when it fits the project.

Every project is an opportunity to explore new creative horizons. Whether you need a perfect mix, an original composition, or an arrangement that makes your track stand out, I’m here to help bring your musical vision to life. Let’s create something extraordinary together! 🎧✨

Interview with Kyranør

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of is my solo work under the name Skia Anemos. It’s a deeply personal series of albums and songs that follow an extraordinary, immersive story. I poured my heart and soul into every aspect of it—each note, each lyric, each sound carries a piece of who I am. The project allowed me to fully explore my creative vision without compromise, and the journey has been incredibly fulfilling. It’s not just music; it’s an expression of my emotions and my artistic journey, and I’m incredibly proud of how it has evolved and resonated with those who have listened.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment, I’m juggling a few exciting projects with some incredibly talented artists. Unfortunately, I can’t say too much just yet, but let’s just say there’s a lot of creativity in the air! Each project has its own unique vibe, and I’m really enjoying exploring new sounds and ideas. Stay tuned, though...good things are coming soon!

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: No One, TBH.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: While I appreciate the versatility and precision that digital tools bring, there’s something inherently special about analog gear that, to me, often surpasses what digital can replicate. The warmth, depth, and organic character it imparts can truly elevate a sound and give it a unique presence. That said, I’m not opposed to digital tools...plugins certainly have their place and can be incredibly effective, especially when a specific sound or effect is needed. Ultimately, my focus is always on the end result, and while I use both analog and digital, I find that analog tends to convey a more authentic, emotional quality that enhances the music in a way digital sometimes can’t quite match.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise to my clients is simple: I will treat your project with the same passion, dedication, and attention to detail as if it were my own. I’m committed to understanding your vision and bringing it to life in a way that exceeds your expectations. From the first idea to the final polish, I’ll ensure the process is collaborative, transparent, and inspiring, so you feel confident every step of the way. Above all, I promise to deliver music that not only sounds incredible but also feels authentic and emotionally powerful...something you can be truly proud of.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I love most about my job is the sheer magic of turning emotions into sound. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about starting with a blank canvas and creating music that resonates deeply, whether it’s evoking joy, nostalgia, or even a sense of darkness. I thrive on the creativity and problem-solving involved in every step, from shaping raw ideas into full productions to capturing that one perfect take that gives a song its soul. I also love collaborating with others, getting to connect with artists and clients, sharing ideas, and bringing their visions to life. There’s nothing quite like the moment when everything clicks, and you realize you’ve created something truly special together. Every project is a new adventure, and I feel incredibly lucky to wake up every day and do what I love. For me, music isn’t just a career...it’s my passion, my art, and my way of connecting with the world.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: One question I often get is, ‘Can you help me bring my ideas to life, even if I don’t know all the technical details?’ My answer is always, ‘Absolutely!’ I love working with clients at any stage of their creative process. Whether you come to me with a fully formed concept or just a spark of an idea, my job is to help shape it into something extraordinary. Another common question is, ‘How long will it take?’ While timelines vary depending on the scope of the project, I always aim to balance efficiency with attention to detail, so the final product feels polished and meets your expectations. I believe in open communication throughout the process to make sure we’re aligned every step of the way. Ultimately, I want my clients to feel confident, supported, and excited about the journey we take together to create something amazing.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that music production is just about pressing buttons or applying effects...it’s so much more than that. A lot of people don’t realize the amount of thought, creativity, and problem-solving that goes into every stage of the process. From shaping a raw idea into a cohesive composition to fine-tuning the mix to perfection, every decision requires a balance of technical expertise and artistic intuition. Another misconception is that a ‘perfect take’ or ‘ideal sound’ happens instantly. In reality, it’s a collaborative and iterative process, and I pride myself on being a problem solver who can adapt to any challenge. Whether it’s overcoming technical hurdles, finding innovative ways to achieve a specific sound, or helping artists express their vision, I’m here to make the journey smooth and inspiring. My goal is to ensure the final result not only meets expectations but exceeds them.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: When I meet a prospective client, I like to ask a few key questions to ensure we’re on the same page and that I can deliver exactly what they need. For example: • What’s your vision for the project, and what emotions or themes do you want to convey? • Do you have specific references or influences that inspire the sound you’re aiming for? • What’s your timeline and budget? • Are there any technical or stylistic preferences I should consider? • How do you like to collaborate—do you prefer frequent updates, or are you more hands-off? These questions help me understand not only the technical requirements of the project but also the creative and emotional direction. My goal is to tailor my approach to each client, ensuring the process feels personal, collaborative, and aligned with their artistic vision.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice for anyone looking to hire a provider like me is to seek someone who not only has the technical skills but also understands your vision and goals. Look for a collaborator who will take the time to listen to your ideas, communicate openly, and bring fresh creativity to your project. It’s important to find someone who values quality and pays attention to the details because those small nuances can make a huge difference in the final result. What sets me apart is my commitment to creating music that doesn’t just sound good—it feels right. I approach every project with passion, precision, and a genuine desire to bring your ideas to life in a way that exceeds expectations. Whether you’re an artist, filmmaker, or brand, I’ll work closely with you to ensure the final product resonates deeply and delivers the impact you’re looking for. At the end of the day, my goal is to make the process seamless, inspiring, and as rewarding for you as the result itself.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: If I were on a desert island, I’d take my beloved Music Man Majesty, my MacBook Pro for recording, and my Apogee Symphony Desktop for pristine audio quality. I’d also bring my Roli Seaboard for its incredible versatility and expressive potential, as well as my Neumann U87 to capture the sounds of the island—the waves, the storms, and all the unique, natural textures that could inspire amazing music. With these tools, I’d have everything I need to create and stay connected to my passion for sound.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: My journey in music production began in 2008, sparked by a natural curiosity that quickly evolved into an incredible passion. What started as an exploration of sound and technique gradually transformed into a lifelong pursuit. Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in every aspect of music, from composition and arrangement to mastering, continually refining my skills and expanding my creative boundaries. This path has been a deeply fulfilling one, driven by a relentless desire to connect with the emotional power of music and share that experience with others.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style can be described as a fusion of rich, atmospheric soundscapes and intricate musical layers, with a focus on emotion-driven compositions. While I’m drawn to darker, more introspective moods, I also embrace a wide range of textures and tones to create something unique and evocative. Whether I’m working on a heavy, intense track or a more delicate, sentimental piece, I always aim to produce music that resonates deeply and leaves a lasting impact.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: If I had the opportunity, I would love to work with bands like Swallow the Sun, Agalloch (despite their disbanding), The Rasmus—my favorite band—and Blackbriar. Each of these artists has a unique ability to evoke deep emotions through their music, and I find their sonic landscapes both inspiring and captivating. The opportunity to collaborate with such visionary musicians would be a dream, as I believe we could create something truly powerful and memorable together.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: One of the most important things in music production is trusting your instincts. The best productions come from that perfect balance between technical precision and creative freedom. Never be afraid to experiment and explore new ideas...sometimes the most unexpected choices lead to the most compelling results.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I tend to gravitate towards darker music, as I find there’s a unique depth and richness in exploring those moods. However, I’m not limited to one style or energy level. Whether a track is intense and energetic or more subdued, I’m drawn to music that evokes strong emotions. I particularly enjoy working with nostalgic and sentimental themes, as they allow me to capture a sense of longing and connection. Ultimately, what matters most is the emotion a song conveys..if it resonates and stirs something deep within, that’s what truly inspires me.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My greatest strength lies in my ability to blend creative vision with technical precision. I have a natural talent for crafting original compositions that captivate and inspire, pushing the boundaries of sound while remaining true to the heart of the music. At the same time, I have an exceptional ear for detail and a deep understanding of the technical side of production. I ensure that every element, from the recording to the final mix, sounds polished and cohesive. Whether it’s achieving that perfect vocal take, sculpting intricate instrumental layers, or dialing in the right tone, I have an innate ability to make everything fit together seamlessly, ensuring the track not only sounds great but feels right. This balance of creativity and technical skill is what truly sets me apart.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: What I bring to a song is a unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of emotion. I approach each track as a canvas, drawing from my vast array of instruments, analog gear, and modern digital tools to craft a sound that is both innovative and timeless. Whether it’s capturing the raw energy of a performance, adding intricate layers of texture, or refining every detail in the mix, I ensure the song stays true to its core vision while pushing it to its fullest potential. I also bring a deep commitment to collaboration and communication, working closely with artists and clients to ensure the final product reflects their voice and message, but with a fresh and distinctive twist. Above all, I add a level of passion and attention to detail that elevates a song from good to unforgettable, helping it stand out in a crowded musical landscape

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: My typical work process begins with understanding the vision and goals of the project. Whether I’m working with an artist, a film director, or a brand, I make sure to immerse myself in their world, ensuring every detail aligns with their desired outcome. I start by laying down a solid foundation with high-quality recordings, leveraging my extensive collection of instruments, analog outboard gear, and cutting-edge digital tools. Once the core elements are in place, I carefully craft the arrangement, experimenting with textures, dynamics, and layers to bring out the perfect sound. My process is highly collaborative, as I constantly communicate with my clients to ensure the music evolves in the right direction. Throughout the production, I blend traditional techniques with modern innovation, using everything from classic analog consoles to advanced digital processors to refine the sound. After the mix is complete, I move on to the mastering stage, where I fine-tune the details and ensure the track sounds polished and cohesive, ready for any platform or medium. Above all, I strive to make the experience seamless and inspiring for my clients, ensuring that the final product is something they can be proud of.” This way, your process sounds methodical, creative, and client-focused—qualities that make your work stand out!
