Tasteful, creative, inspiring performances on amazing sounding gear. Tyler is a wizard on Hammond organ and keys. He holds a Masters of Music, BA in Jazz Performance, and 20 years of professional performing and songwriting experience. Simply put, Tyler makes good songs great.
Hey there, you've come to the right place for all your keyboard needs! I genuinely want to help make your music the best it can be. Whether your track needs simple textural layering or full-blown fills and solos, we'll work together to get the parts just right. My philosophy is simple: exceed my client's expectations. Although my background is in rock, funk, and jazz, my decades of experience have allowed me to sit pretty comfortably in many genres, including country, folk, pop, gospel, and more.
ORGAN + PIANO + KEYS
I run my Hammond B3 through a Leslie 145, with two mics on the top horn and one on the bottom rotor. You won't find a better sounding Hammond! For piano, I record through my top of the line Roland HP603A home piano. I achieve impressive Rhodes and Wurlitzer tones from my Yamaha MOXF8.
MIXING + PRODUCTION
You'll be surprised at how good I can make your song sound. Check out my audio examples! I also offer affordable songwriting consults to help with lyrics, arrangement, instrumentation, etc.
Send me a message with what you're looking for, and don't forget to include audio of your song! I'll send you back a proposal and get straight to work. Generally it's a one week turnover with no set number of revisions. I'm happy to make changes until you're satisfied. You'll get .mp3 drafts, and .wav files for the final.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: 1. Overdubbing Hammond organ, piano, or other keyboards onto client's songs. 2. Songwriting consults- many of my clients are amateur songwriters, and having a professional "review" of their song is incredibly helpful to streamlining their vision, "trimming the fat", and deciding on crucial production decisions that can make or break the track. 3. Mixing- a solid mix can make a good song sound great, and a poor mix can make a great song sound bad. I only do the former.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't be fooled by the super cheap prices that some people on here are offering- you get what you pay for. I do this work because I genuinely love to make music and want to be part of your project.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: "Studio magic" is only 10% of the sound you're looking for. The other 90% is achieved with an inspiring performance by an expert musician recording on high-quality gear.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, blues, country, honky-tonk, singer-songwriter, jazz, gospel, pop. Anything really...
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm a fantastic performer and know how to communicate effectively. I also have a keen ear for songwriting and production.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring years of expertise in performing and songwriting, and oftentimes I'm thinking in ways that my clients aren't. Things like: balancing the frequency spectrum, adjusting the rhythm of certain lyrics so that they're more impactful, adding extra sonic layers during a chorus or bridge, helping decide which instruments should be up front in the mix and which should feel farther back, etc. If I'm hired to record keyboard, my parts tend to provide the "secret sauce", or the "glue". If things are sounding empty or bare, the tune might need some kind of keyboard layer to bring it to life. Maybe just padded chords underneath guitars or vocals, or possibly something a bit more noticeable. Maybe the chorus needs more energy... a screaming organ can help with that! I bring to the song whatever the song needs.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For songwriting consults, I will listen to your song (many times) and provide a thorough list of specific suggestions to enhance/improve your work. I often supplement this list with an audio recording of me playing/singing the changes or revisions that I'm suggesting. Step one is communication: what is the client looking for? Is there a specific vision for a keyboard part? If so, I want to know all about that. If not, I can usually hear some potential parts that would fit into the song and will offer suggestions. Ultimately whatever makes the client happy is what I'm going to do. Step two is experimentation: I'll chart out your tune and play around with some ideas, make a recording and send over a draft. Step three is to refine: Once I receive feedback I can apply that and fine tune the parts until they're just right.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a great sounding studio with multiple keyboards, a Hammond B3, Leslie 145, and an ever-growing mic locker. My DAW is loaded with boutique plugins, but truthfully it's knowing how to use the simple tools that gets you 90% of the way there.
