Interview with Jaeye

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I have been producing and engineering for 6 years but only 3 years since I started to execute everything professionally as a Freelancer ( Type Beat Producer )

  3. Q: How would you describe your style?

  4. A: My producer style is a blend of atmospheric, emotive beats with a focus on high-quality, polished sound. I have produced songs that cross genres, showing a versatility in blending influences from rap, R&B, and Afrobeat, like my work with Oxlade, Yanga Chief, CJ Tell'm, BURUKLYN BOYZ and more. I lean into creating smooth, melodic compositions with attention to detail, particularly in the mix and mastering process, given my engineering background. My style thrives on modern, soulful vibes with strong musical foundations, ensuring my tracks are both impactful and radio-ready.

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: I would love to work with Amaeya. She is an upcoming artiste, super talented and diverse with her sound. I love her music but I feel as though my beats and my input in the production pipeline of every song she does would propel her into something more because I see so much of her style blend with my production style. I think we would make an incredible Artiste-Producer duo

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: A simple Home studio setup with an Interface, good monitors, headphones and a Mic. A bit of treatment as well.

  9. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  10. A: I am heavily inspired by the sound of Tems and PARTYNEXTDOOR as they both input and output a lot from both R&B and Afrobeat which heavily influence the sort of sound I produce and engineer.

  11. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  12. A: I am always making beats for my clients and uploading them to my beatstore and offering them deals because I enjoy it when artistes are able to fully release all the music they have on my beats.
