Iona Evans is a sound recordist and producer who has been integral to the development of Alawon Gwaun's recorded acoustic sound scape since the group's inception.
Our aim is to produce pristine renditions of Welsh and Celtic Folk music within sensitive recording environments with good quality outcomes: Iona has been flexible, imaginative and professional in her involvement with this quest and has incorporated her expertise into the recordings by using innovative and conventional techniques to capture our sound. Iona continues as our sound recordist.

Having worked with Iona on one song I found her to be super creative, professional and easy to work and communicate with throughout the process.

I've been working with Iona for the last few months on my first fully-produced track. As a trained performer with only basic production experience, I had a lot to learn and needed someone with the patience to work with me - esp. on this particular song, which happens to be very complex, requiring lots of different sounds and varying tempos. I needed someone who could offer both a precise matching of my ideas as well as the creativity and skills necessary to create & interpret beyond what I was able to imagine. Thankfully, Iona has offered me all of these attributes and more!
