Francesco Binanti

Remote Mixing and Musician

Francesco Binanti on SoundBetter

Let's create something beautiful, together.

Hello everyone, I'm Francesco from Italy (living in Grenoble, France) and I have been a guitarist for 15+ years and counting.

It's been one year, right after my PhD in Physics, that I started producing the very first songs for my band "Gods of the Sun" (first single out on December 14th!!!) in my home-studio, and I got really passionate about what a good mixing can do for your production.

Now I would like to work with other amazing musicians, establish a nice relationship with them and hopefully take their recordings to the next level. I respect nice music, as well as the artists putting so much effort in it without expensive means. I'm one of you too, so don't be scared to send a message and have a chat, I would love to hear your sound anyways.

I'm a logic pro user, and mainly use digital plug-ins for the mixing process. And you would be amazed to discover what they can do at their best. I also use analog hardware during the production as well, so I don't exclude a transition to digital-analog hybrid mixing at some point.

Send me a note through the contact button above.

Interview with Francesco Binanti

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: A pleasant, chill work-together, and a final sound that won't bore them.

  3. Q: How would you describe your style?

  4. A: Nervy, eclectic, provocative.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: Spend a lot of time in recording instruments with the right sound and feeling. After that, most of the work is already done and the result will be amazing.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: Usually it's rock music, I'm electric guitars and punchy drums kind of guy.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: A strong message from the sound. Balance or imbalance, clarity or muddiness, those are always considerate choices.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: I listen, and listen, and listen to the record, to be able to foresee a direction for the sound and the feeling of the whole song. Then I propose my vision to the artists, to see where the common points stand, and choose the best sound for the message the song has to convey. I start finding the right balance and sound among the instrumental parts, and then I move to vocals for which usually I spend most of my time.
