Interview with Daniele F

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I've been playing lead guitar for Italian indie rock band Visione Inversa from 2019 to 2024, recording their third album and two singles. It was my main project for a long time, with lots of good songs and fun concerts!

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Both serve their purpose and I can definitely see their appeal for different reasons.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Playing music and instruments is my happiest place and one of the highlights of my life!

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: Be very descriptive about what you need for your songs, with examples and suggestions so that I will come up with ideas that will match your vision!

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: Definitely my musical sensibility and music theory knowledge: I know what it's needed for any type of music and I always go for a particular melody or a specific rhythmic idea that serves the song well.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: Passion is everything: your provider should be enthusiastic about your music as much as you do!

  13. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  14. A: My Tokai Love Rock, my Yamaha THR10, my TC Electronic Nova System, my Jerry Cantrell Wah and my Suhr Riot!

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I've been playing guitar for almost fifteen years, bass for twelve and piano for ten. I graduated at the CPM Music Institute in Milan, Italy, acquiring a contemporary guitar degree back in 2013.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: I always strive to add elegant choices to my music, both in playing and sound textures.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: Any artist of any genre, as long as they are passionate about music as much as me!

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: Sing everything! Your voice is an instrument as well, and it will naturally lead you to come up with organic and melodic ideas that will bring your music to the next level.

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: I mostly worked on rock music with my band (Visione Inversa), but I also collaborated with hip hop, rap and trap producers and musical theaters for the soundtracks of their shows.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: As a multi instrumentalist, I can arrange and produce a big variety of instrumental tracks.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: While recording, I go through a lot of different ideas for sounds production, mixing and playing instruments.

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: I listen to a large variety of different genres: Pop, Rock, Metal, R'n'B, Soul, Funk, Blues, Jazz, ecc.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: I mainly offer a service of recording multiple instruments tracks. Here's a list of the instrument I can play for my customers: - Acoustic guitar (classical, folk, 12 strings) - Electric guitar (solos, rhythm, clean, distorted) - Bass - Piano - Synth - Drums (programmed on DAW) - Ukulele - Orchestra (programmed on DAW)
