Interview with Logan Infinito
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I’m particularly proud of was producing a concept album for an indie artist. I handled the production, mixing, and arrangement, and the album ended up getting great feedback for its cohesive sound and storytelling. It was rewarding to see the artist’s vision come to life so fully.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently, I’m working on several projects, including a Hip Hop EP and a cinematic score for an indie film. Each project presents its own creative challenges, which I enjoy.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: There are many talented professionals on SoundBetter, but I’d recommend seeking out collaborators who align with your style and vision. I personally worked with prodcer and engineer Gee Flow CL who has a name producing with industry gians as Dj Khaled, ASAP Ferg and Young Thug among others.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I’d say both. Analog brings warmth and character that’s hard to replicate, while digital offers flexibility and precision. The combination of the two creates the best of both worlds.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to always prioritize the artist’s vision while delivering a high-quality, professional product. I strive for transparency, open communication, and a final result that exceeds expectations.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love most is the creative collaboration. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about taking an idea and working with an artist to turn it into a finished song that they’re proud of.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: One common question is how long the process will take. My answer is that it depends on the complexity of the project, but I always aim to balance speed with quality, ensuring the final product meets both deadlines and expectations.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception is that producers only handle the technical side of things. While that’s part of the job, a lot of the work involves creative decision-making and helping artists bring out the best in their performances.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I typically ask about their vision for the project, their influences, and what message they want to convey with the song. Understanding their goals helps me tailor my approach to meet their needs.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: When looking for a producer, it’s important to find someone who understands your vision and is willing to collaborate. Listen to their previous work and communicate your ideas clearly to ensure a smooth process. It’s not just about technical skills but also about a shared creative connection.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: If I had to choose five pieces of gear, I’d take a laptop with a DAW, an audio interface, a MIDI keyboard, a pair of headphones, and a portable analog synth like the Korg Minilogue. These essentials would allow me to keep producing wherever I am.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been involved in music production for over a decade. My journey started as a musician, learning instruments and songwriting, before transitioning into production. I studiend Electroacustic Music Composition (Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, Argentina) and over the years I’ve refined my skills through hands-on experience, working on a range of projects from small indie releases to larger commercial productions.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is a fusion of organic and digital elements, often combining rich textures, deep atmospheres, and a cinematic touch. I like to create immersive soundscapes while ensuring that the core emotion of the song comes through clearly.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with artists like Kanye West or Daddy Yankee. Their innovative approach to music and sound design resonates with my style, and I believe collaborating with them would allow for a creative exchange that could push boundaries.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don’t underestimate the power of subtractive EQ. Removing unwanted frequencies can often clean up a mix more effectively than adding. Always focus on making space for each element so that the entire mix feels balanced and clear.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I typically work on a broad spectrum of genres, ranging from Reggaeton and Hip-Hop to electronic, indie, and cinematic music. This variety helps me bring a diverse range of techniques to each project, which can often enhance the creative process.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is translating an artist’s vision into a polished, professional sound. I’m able to listen deeply to their needs, interpret their creative ideas, and execute them in a way that elevates the track, ensuring both artistic integrity and commercial appeal.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a creative and technical blend to a song, ensuring Hip Hop and/or Latin aesthetics. This includes a strong sense of musicality and attention to detail. Whether it's helping the artist capture emotion, providing guidance on arrangement, or ensuring the track has a professional polish, I focus on making sure the song resonates with its intended audience.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My work process usually starts with a deep dive into the client’s vision. I listen to their references and inspirations, then move into pre-production to set up the sonic foundation. Once we align on a direction, I begin crafting the arrangement, layering elements, and focusing on sound design. Post-production involves detailed editing, mixing, and final touches in mastering to ensure the track translates well across all platforms.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is centered around a hybrid setup, blending analog and digital gear. I use a combination of digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Ableton Live and Logic Pro, paired with analog gear. My main monitors are the IK Multimedia ILoud, providing accurate sound reproduction. I also work with a Universal Audio Apollo interface to capture high-quality recordings.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by a wide range of musicians and producers, includingBad Bunny for his versatility, Producers like Rick Rubin for his minimalistic yet profound approach and Pharrell Williams for his mastery in blending traditional and digital elements. Each of these figures demonstrates how powerful creativity and innovation can be in shaping a track.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common work I do involves production, mixing, and mastering. My role often spans from helping develop the concept of a song to refining the final sound. I also assist in sound design, ensuring the overall quality and clarity of a track align with the artist’s vision.
