I am a Topliner that can create lyrics for your song. I can write in multiple genres including metal, rock, punk, pop, folk, and country. We can also come up with some basic song writing feedback to help you with the direction of the song.
You can check out some of my songs on my website: www.restlesskind.com; or under my "artist" name (sdgmacey) as on a variety of streaming platforms.
My goal is to collaborate on projects with performing artists (I am not one), as well as producers, labels, and A&R. As well as to connect with others to create music that both inspires and fulfills dreams.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: She's a Wolf. Started as a chord progression, and then we thought sounded like Sabrina Carpenter's Expresso. Started to riff on the lyrics, and eventually turned into a full song.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Working on recording a song called "Sloan" that was inspired by the movie "My Old Ass"; also we will be editing a song called Josie, and have gotten the vocals back from a female singer we hired.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Since most of what I Dom is a Topliner, I would say digital when it comes to lyrics, and play both acoustic and electric guitars, and keyboards.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Promise to listen to your needs, and be very clear and transparent about my process, abilities, and limitations.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Like helping people solidify their story and bring it to life. Very often with people with limited musical abilities.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How do you come up with your ideas?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That being an indie songwriter that has gotten into the game more recently, doesn't mean I have nothing to contribute. And yes, I have another full-time job outside of being a Top-liner.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What have you already done with this song? Do you just need me to punch top the lyrics, or craft an idea from scratch? Do you work with other songwriters? What has been your experience in working with others, and how can we form a long standing relationship if it feels like a good fit.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as detailed as possible in what you are looking for. Realize my strength is as a top liner. But I am also a musical fan and tend to write similar to those artists I follow. Be attentive and responsive when I ask question, as I am trying to get as much information out to make your song story complete.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MY PRS guitars, my computer and my keyboard.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Been writing lyrics since I was a teenager. Got back into it a bit more recently. This is really a passion side project, that has blossomed into something larger and more meaningful to me.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Laid back, collaborative, and easy going. I think I have a good ear for music and musical direction and what could work to bring a song to life.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Too many, but 1st would be Michelle Branch. Loved her music and style since she first came on the scene. In later years her music inspired me to pick up the guitar again, and helped get me out of a darker place due to medical issues.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Write every day. Practice guitar every day.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Metal, Punk, Pop,
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: See above
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Imagination and creativity for the story. I have a unique ability to craft a compelling story fairly quickly once I get an idea in my head.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Start mainly with lyrics and then build from there. Mostly demos, but recording an EP of songs to promote as a songwriter.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: VT Studio mainly for just creating lyrics for songs. Work with a studio in W. Springfield to edit, produce, and play music for some of the songs I have written, and hire talent when needed.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Noah Kahan, Michelle Branch, The Warning, Walk on Mars, Lolo, Van Halen, Greenway. Way to many to mention as listen to a wide variety of musical tastes and genres.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Topliner that can create a lyrical story for your song. I will craft and weave a story to fit your direction and music, and also give feedback on your musical direction for the song. I can also craft basic chord progressionn ideas to help fill out the details.
