Andres did some wonderful remixes of some of my original piano compositions, with Dolby Atmos versions too. He is such a delight to work with and he gives 100% of his time and energy. Nothing seems impossible for Andres. I admire his enthusiasm and expertise and would have no hesitation in recommending him. I look forward to future collaboration with Andres!

I've worked with Andres creating music for two of my short films. The last song we made for my most recent short film was a wonderful collaboration . I had an inspiration for a song, he made the music and organized all the production, I wrote the lyrics. It was easy to work together and the song came out better than I had imagined. I recommend 100 percent working with him. His knowledge of music and instruments makes everything flow. He is also open minded and really listens to his client.

Not only a great professional, but also an interesting, driven, open minded person who really pushes the singer to the next level. What more can I say? Working with Andres is an entirely rewarding learning experience! 💙🎶 Love making music with him!

Andres and I worked together on 13 songs over a two year span that as of the time of writing, are still being released. He is a pleasure to work with, having amazing ideas of his own to bring to a project while also being open and accepting of your own ideas in bringing your vision to life. Friendly, professional and ultimately you end up with an amazing product at the end. Can’t recommend Andre enough.

Interview with Andres Mesa
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: There are so many!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am mixing in Dolby Atmos three albums for the biggest indie label in London, from various artists. I am also producing a great Spanish singer, and just finished an EP for another independent artist.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Andrew Scheps.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. They are both different and depending on their availability. For my current setup I love working inside the box. There is more flexibility and can achieve also a professional sound.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Delivering high end productions. Mixed and mastered. Dolby Atmos included.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Everything. Its my life, my passion, my job, my everything.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: If I am available for work.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That Ai can do anything atm. Ai is good a tool for some things, but generally for others is becoming pure Ai slop.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Where do you want to get with your music.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have clear goals.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My macbook, an apollo twin, my prophet 08, my Audeze headphones, and a very powerful WIFI Starlink to upload my music and a power plant lol. (Provided that I am not stranded on the island, the question is a bit misleading)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have studied my craft and worked in the industry for 20 years. I have a masters degree and a PhD in Sonic creativity from top UK universities, but always made sure to work in the industry while I was studying - getting the most of both fields.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Minimalistic, polished, high end.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I've had the chance to be involved in different projects with incredible artists, but my dream would be to work with James Blake or Charlie XX.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie, pop, electronic.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My patience and my experience.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My ears, my musical expertise, my industry background, my mixing skills, and as an extra, I always give lots of tips about how to market songs and get them out into the world for people to actually listen to them.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I am super patient and love taking time to understand the artist's goals. I really like getting from A to B using all of my skills and delivering high end - ready to release products.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I am always on the move, always travelling around the world with a small but very effective setup.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Tom Elmhirst - Mixer Andrew Scheps - Mixer Max Martin - Producer and Songwriter
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mix in stereo and Dolby Atmos, and can produce records. I have a wide range of skills.
