My most confident specialty is songwriting/lyricism.
I'm also able to lay down some vocals/raps as well too.

Interview with codii
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My album "UNSERIOUS" that gonna be released soon. Im proud of it because all the lyrics and vocals were all done by me. I have had 0 help from anyone...literally not kidding you. This project is suppose to be me letting go of trying to be a perfectionist all the time and just having fun being myself and making stuff. There's no true meaning behind the album other than the fact that I was just in my room on my mic and laptop having a good time.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My album "UNSERIOUS" thats coming out 01/30/2025!! Currently I am trying to get my first music video set up and recorded for one of the tracks.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Nope, I would love to get to know and connect with others though!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Don't know and Don't know
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The work will get done.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: My day job? Hate it. The music? I get to say and create whatever is in my head.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: When is your first album being released? 01/30/2025 "UNSERIOUS" look out for it ;)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: At the moment, I have no idea. Like I said, Im just getting started here.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Are you able to engineer? Cause I have no fucking idea how to do that...
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Trust the process and know that I'm still learning to grow and get better. I will give my 110% but also will tell you that I've started doing this out of just having fun and expressing a part of myself I normally don't get too.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1: My Microphone. 2: Interface 3: Laptop 4: Midi Keyboard 5: Water Bottle
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am actually very new to this. I just recently took a step down from Acting after trying to pursue the film industry for the past 7 years and it seems like I kept hitting dead end after dead end. I just so happen to find myself in my room writing lyrics down and recording them over a beat. I did this for a while until I started sharing amongst friends and over time found confidence and a new way to express myself as an artist. Im still learning and growing everyday, but I love doing this and want to continue. So to answer the question, I've only been doing this a little under a year.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: With music? Like I said, attitude, in your face, honesty, gonna say shit you don't want to hear but Imma say it anyways. As a person? Very laid back, the attitude and persona I give off in my songs is just a side of me I don't get to share on my day to day life. It's freeing to bring it out, very therapeutic. But as me as just who I am day to day, I am quiet and I keep to myself even though my mind has a lot of shit to say.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Doechii. That girl can RAP and her lyrics are like...something I would hope one day I can be near that kind of level.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you catch yourself stressing, take a break. Step away and let that part of your brain breath and relax a bit before you put it back to work.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop/Rap/Pop/Alternative/Rock
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Songwriting/Lyricist
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Attitude, bold lyrics, honesty. What I writing comes from a place where I don't have to think. I can say whatever the fuck I want to say and if you don't like it then...oh well. That's the the vibe I bring to my writing. When it comes to doing vocal recording, in my head I try to vision what I want the song to sound like. Sometimes it doesn't come across exactly how I want but If I'm happy with it and I'm satisfy with it then that's all that matters.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Usually will download a beat from the internet, or would create my own beat. Lay down some melodies saying nothing but gibberish. Then match that gibberish with some actual lyrics. Takes me about 30 min to an hour to write a whole song. Then go in, lay down the vocals, will change the lyrics sometimes depending on the flow and if the syllables match the beat. Then do some background vocals and ad libs. Would fix volume and EQ after that. Give a few days of listening and tweaking and if it still pops than the song is finalized and I move on the the next one.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: AKG microphone with stand and pop filter. Audio Interface. Midi Keyboard. Logic Pro X.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I mean right now I have a few but it changes over time to be honest. I just watch performances and hear music that just makes me go "damn I like that shit" but don't really pay attention to the artist themselves. I take in what I see and hear, I don't really obsess over too much of the individual behind the art. However, I do appreciate and respect those individuals that have inspired me. Hopefully one day I get to do the same.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Songwriting/Vocals/Rapping
