Edison Roberts

Pop writing and production

Edison Roberts on SoundBetter

I am an award winning song-writer and producer specializing in indie pop and pop adjacent music; playing piano, guitar, bass, and drums. I have been a musician my whole life, and have been producing music for 5 years, I can also mix and master your tracks. Excited to work with you!

Hey there! My name is Edison. I've been a musician my whole life, and a music producer and song-writer for 5 years. My clients have described my style as 80's revival influence with elements of indie rock like Passion Pit, and keyboards like Stevie Wonder. I want to work with you to develop the song you hear in your head, because I know how difficult it can be to move from a great song on an instrument and transpose that to a great recording.

I play the piano, bass guitar, guitar, and drums. I am very comfortable creating music that is up-tempo, fun, and dancey. I have an extreme passion for all types of music, and would love to help you develop your style and feel. I graduated with a double major in Music Production and Marketing and I hope that I can use the skills I've learned over the years to create great music with you.

I produce and write music very well, as well as mixing along the process. I am also available for final mixes and final mastering if you want the whole package through one partner. If you want bubbly pop music, hit me up and we'll make something great!

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with Edison Roberts

  1. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  2. A: A korg SV-2 (I love the tone they have on their electric sound), my audeze open back headphones, my mac, my fender guitar, and my viking hollow body bass.

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: I've been producing since graduating high school. In 2020 I didn't know what I wanted to do but I had been a musician my whole life. But then I downloaded garageband on my phone and here we are almost 5 years later working in logic and protocols, and it's the thing I love the very most.

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: Upbeat, sarcastic, and fun. I Like writing music that sounds super upbeat and dancey but has a bit of a sarcastic negativity in the lyrics. It creates a nice contrast I think.

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: I would love to see what i could create with Sabrina Carpenter. I think if I could produce music for her there would be an interesting shift in her style that still felt true to form. Plus my sister is obsessed with her so.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: Music creation is a faucet. When you leave it alone and come back after a while it will just drip, but leave it open and keep trying and it will become a steady flow of ideas.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: Lots of pop music. Synth-pop, indie-pop, alternative, and pop-rock. Though recently I've been leaning a bit more into alternative rock and indie rock.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: My strongest skill is my drive, I am able to create fully produced songs from nothing in a day. I play all the instruments needed and when I get in the right groove I really get going.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: I bring a super high energy that comes across in my music. My songs are dancable, groovin', and fun. If you want something that'll make you smile, I know we will work well together.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: My typical work process is music driven, creating grooves and feelings that help inspire lyric writing for my own music. I will often take ideas given by clients and flesh them out and give them some more creative flairs.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: My studio setup includes an apollo interface running both ProTools and Logic, Focal monitors, a few guitars and basses, many different keyboards (and tons more VSTs), a Townsend Sphere for vocals, KSM44s for acoustic instruments, and a lot of good vibes.

  21. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  22. A: I take a ton of inspiration from many bands, but currently I'm spinning a lot of Dayglow and Arlie.

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: My most common work includes writing full instrumentals and producing vocals provided for them.
