Interview with Melany Cubero
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was a member of a gospel choir as a soprano, where we toured many communities and theaters bringing culture, history and tradition to many corners of my country, Costa Rica. The black spirituals and gospel songs that we sang really gave an elevated experience that I can say I have never felt with so many other styles that I have sung in my life.

A: That music transforms lives.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Every time I teach a class I like to leave a moral for everyday life, music teaches us how to live. And every time I record as a singer or backup singer I want my voice to bring a magical element that elevates the recording.

A: Thinking that music is easy to conquer. The “simplest” thing sometimes ends up being the most complex to perfect.
