It’s hard to find a engineer totally involved in the success of the artist every session I’ve had with this man has been nothing but hard work and dedication challenging me to push the boundaries beyond what I feel I’m capable he injects his creativity into not only making me sound the way I want but also carving out areas which I can build upon every dollar I’ve spent on this man has been well worth it hard to find a engineer as personal as him the sessions just few natural and organic nothing forced nothing fake truthful opinions and insight and his beats are one of a kind customized to u

Never met a engineer so driven and involved in the success of your sound always willing to push the boundary of creativity with himself and the artist you get a engineer that feels personal even after the first meet you feel like this is more than a transaction it feels like you have your very own engineer that came up with you for years even though you just met em but that’s my personal experience

Interview with abmxxes

  1. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  2. A: You know, I find inspiration in some pretty unlikely places. I’ll be jamming to Bach one minute, thinking, “This dude was the original beat maker,” and then I’m all in with Travis Scott, who’s basically a sound architect. I like to mix the discipline of classical music with the creative chaos of modern hip-hop. It’s like taking Mozart and giving him some 808s.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: I’m proud of every project I’ve worked on because each one represents a step in my journey and a chance to push my skills further. I haven’t hit that “Grammy winner” feeling yet, but every track I work on feels like a victory in its own right. My role in each project is to bring out the best in the music, whether it's through mixing, mastering, or collaborating with artists to achieve their vision. Every successful project fuels my passion and drives me to keep improving and reaching for new heights.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: At the moment, I’m focused on building my online presence and getting a deeper understanding of the business side of music. I’m working on expanding my reach and connecting with more artists and industry professionals. It’s all about growing my network, refining my skills, and finding new opportunities to collaborate and create amazing music.

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: Since I'm new to SoundBetter, I don’t have personal recommendations just yet. However, I’d recommend checking out profiles with strong reviews and portfolios that match your project needs. Look for professionals who have a track record of delivering high-quality work and who communicate well. If you have specific requirements or styles in mind, you might find someone who fits perfectly by exploring the platform and reaching out to potential collaborators.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: I’m all about digital, and here’s why: Digital gear offers incredible flexibility and precision. With plugins and virtual instruments, I can access a vast array of sounds and effects, experiment freely, and make precise adjustments without the constraints of physical hardware. Plus, it’s all about convenience—having everything in one place on my iMac means I can work efficiently and adapt to any project needs on the fly. While analog gear has its charm and warmth, digital tools allow me to achieve the high-quality results I’m aiming for while keeping things streamlined and adaptable. Less is more, and in this case, digital helps me keep it all in check!

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: My promise to clients is to deliver a mix that truly elevates their music while staying true to their vision. I’ll put in the creativity and technical skill needed to make sure every element of your track shines and resonates with your audience. You can count on clear communication, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to making the process smooth and enjoyable. My goal is to exceed your expectations and make sure you’re thrilled with the final result. I want you to return to me as a consistent business so I’ll do my best to ensure that.

  13. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  14. A: What I like most about my job is the ability to bring an artist’s vision to life. It’s incredibly rewarding to take raw tracks and turn them into polished, impactful pieces of music. I love the creative challenge of finding the perfect balance, enhancing the emotion, and making every element of the song shine. Each project is unique, and I enjoy the process of experimenting with different sounds and techniques to make each track stand out. Plus, the collaborative aspect is fantastic—working closely with artists and seeing their reactions to the finished product is what makes the job so fulfilling.

  15. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  16. A: Customers often ask these questions: What’s included in your mixing service? Answer: My mixing service includes balancing levels, EQing, compression, and adding effects to ensure every element of your track shines. You’ll get a polished, professional mix that enhances your song while keeping your artistic vision intact. I also offer a couple of revisions to make sure we get everything just right. How long does the mixing process take? Answer: Typically, it takes 3-5 business days for the initial mix. If you need more time for revisions or have a tight deadline, just let me know, and we can work something out. Can you work with my existing tracks or do you need new recordings? Answer: I can work with your existing tracks as long as they’re in good condition and properly recorded. If you have new recordings, just send them over, and we’ll get started! What do you need from me to get started? Answer: I’ll need the audio files for your track, any reference tracks you like, and a clear idea of what you’re aiming for with your mix. If you have any specific notes or preferences, sharing those helps me understand your vision better. My PREFERENCE is for someone to use as little words as possible to describe their vision and allow me to place my ears and heart on the mixing process. Trust I WILL NOT do anything that goes against the integrity of a song but I do love to add my touch to a song, if allowed. How many revisions are included? Answer: I include 2 revisions with each mix. If you need more revisions, we can discuss additional options. My goal is to make sure you’re completely satisfied with the final product. What format do you deliver the final mix in? Answer: I deliver the final mix in high-quality WAV format, but I can also provide MP3s or any other format you need. Just let me know your preferences. Do you offer mastering services as well? Answer: I have my go-to mastering chain but I focus on mixing, I can recommend some great mastering engineers if you need that service. Mastering is a separate process that polishes the final mix for distribution.

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that mixing is just about tweaking knobs and adding effects. People often think it’s purely technical, but it’s actually a creative process that involves understanding the artist’s vision and enhancing the emotional impact of the music. Mixing isn’t just about making things sound good; it’s about making sure every element of the track fits together perfectly and tells the story you want to convey. It’s a blend of technical skill and artistic intuition, where the goal is to bring out the best in the music while staying true to the artist’s intent.

  19. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  20. A: When working with prospective clients, I typically ask: What’s Your Vision for the Track?: Understanding your artistic goals and how you want the final mix to sound helps me align with your vision. What Genre or Style Are You Targeting?: Knowing the genre and style helps tailor the mix to suit the specific sound and expectations of that genre. Do You Have Any Reference Tracks?: If you have songs that you’re aiming to emulate or that inspire you, sharing them can guide the mixing process. Are There Specific Elements You Want to Highlight?: Whether it’s vocals, bass, or a particular instrument, this helps prioritize certain aspects of the mix. What’s Your Timeline and Budget?: Clarifying deadlines and budget ensures we stay on track and meet your expectations. Do You Have Any Preferences or Requirements for the Mix?: Any special requests or preferences can be incorporated into the mix to meet your needs. How Many Revisions Are You Looking For?: Knowing your expectations for revisions helps manage the process and ensures you’re satisfied with the final product. What Format Will the Files Be in?: This ensures compatibility and makes sure I’m working with the right file types for your project.

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: For a customer looking to hire a provider like me, here’s some solid advice: Know Your Vision: Be clear about what you want from your mix. The more you communicate your vision, the better I can tailor the mix to match your style and goals. Trust the Process: Remember, mixing is a collaborative effort. Trust the provider’s expertise, but don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and feedback along the way. Be Open to Revisions: It’s normal to go through a few rounds of revisions to get everything just right. Be open to feedback and changes to achieve the best result. Check Experience and Style: Look at past work and make sure the provider’s style aligns with what you’re looking for. It’s important that their approach complements your music. Communication is Key: Good communication ensures that both you and the provider are on the same page. Keep in touch throughout the project to address any concerns or adjustments needed. By following these tips, you’ll be in a great position to get a mix that truly enhances your music!

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: If I were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, I’d go with: My iMac – The central hub for all my work. ZEN QUADRO Synergy Core – For top-notch processing and effects. Slate M1 Mic – Reliable and high-quality for recording. Kaotica Eyeball – Helps get the best sound out of the mic. A Source of Internet – Gotta stay connected and keep the creative juices flowing. If I’m sticking strictly to gear and keeping it minimal, it’d be: iMac – My main setup. ZEN QUADRO Synergy Core – For processing power. Slate M1 Mic – Essential for recording. Kaotica Eyeball – For optimal mic performance. Vsx headphones – For Mixing Less is definitely more, and these essentials keep the creativity flowing!

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: I got my B.A. in Audio Engineering, but honestly, I’ve picked up a lot more from hands-on experience than from the classroom. I’ve been in the game since 2018, but it wasn’t until last year that I really started feeling confident with my mixing skills. I’m still learning and growing, so the more I dive into this, the more I realize there’s always something new to discover. It’s a journey, and I’m excited to keep evolving!

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: I’d describe my style as evolving and experimental. I’m still learning and figuring out exactly what my signature sound is, but I excel at crafting creative mixes that feel fresh and authentic. I focus on mixing from the heart rather than getting bogged down by technicalities. My goal is to bring out the emotion and vibe of a track, even if it doesn’t require a high-tech approach.

  29. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  30. A: I’d love to work with Travis Scott—his innovative approach to sound and production is incredibly inspiring. Beyond that, I’m open to collaborating with as many artists as possible. I don’t have a specific type, but I’m definitely drawn to passionate, student-minded artists who are eager to learn and grow. That’s the real vibe I connect with!

  31. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  32. A: One music production tip: Less is often more. Don’t overcrowd your mix with too many effects or layers. Sometimes, the simplest approach can have the most powerful impact. Focus on making each element clear and purposeful. If something doesn’t serve the song, don’t be afraid to cut it out.

  33. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  34. A: I usually work on Hip Hop, R&B, Trapsoul, and Blues—those genres come naturally to me and let me flex my skills. But honestly, I enjoy all kinds of music. Whether it’s a smooth R&B groove or a gritty Blues riff, I’m all in for making any track sound its best!

  35. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  36. A: Seeing as how I’m still a student. My strongest skill is my ability to bring out the best in every element of a mix. I’m all about finding that perfect balance where every sound, from the vocals to the bass, has its own space to shine while still working together as a cohesive track. Whether it’s creating depth, adding warmth, or making sure your song hits with just the right impact, I’ve got a good ear for detail and a knack for enhancing the overall vibe. However, with all that being said, I’m still a student.

  37. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  38. A: I bring clarity, balance, and a touch of creativity to every song I work on. My goal is to enhance your track without getting in way of the message of it. Whether it’s making the vocals pop, ensuring the bass hits just right, or adding subtle effects that elevate the whole vibe. Plus, I try to keep the process smooth and collaborative.

  39. Q: What's your typical work process?

  40. A: My typical work process is pretty straightforward but efficient. I start by getting a clear understanding of your vision for the track—what vibe you’re going for, any specific elements you want to stand out, etc. Once I’ve got that, I dive into the mix, balancing levels, EQing, and adding effects to make everything sit just right. I like to send over a draft early on to make sure we’re on the same page. Then, after any tweaks or revisions, I polish everything up for the final version.

  41. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  42. A: I work from home, and my studio setup is all digital—no big racks or fancy hardware here. Everything runs through my trusty iMac, where I’ve got a solid collection of plugins and virtual instruments that handle all the heavy lifting. My DAW is where the magic happens, and with a good pair of headphones, monitors and my handy dandy notebook, I’m able to craft mixes that sound like they came from a high-end studio. It’s a minimalist setup, but it delivers maximum results!

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I mainly focus on mixing and mastering tracks, ensuring everything sounds balanced and polished. My job is to make the vocals, beats, and instruments work together seamlessly, enhancing the overall sound without overshadowing the artist's original vision.
