Professional production, mixing and mastering that brings clarity, depth, and impact to your music. With over 15 years in the music industry, I work with artists across genres to craft polished, powerful, streaming-ready records using a fully equipped professional studio environment. Musical mixes — not just technical ones.
Hi, I'm Gabriel Kerman, a producer, mixing engineer, and guitarist from Buenos Aires. I’ve been working in the music industry for over 15 years.
I’ve collaborated with several artists in Buenos Aires, such as Bersuit Vergarabat, Las Manos de Filippi, Nahuel Briones, Hijos Malones, Feel the Fla, and Francisco Segovia, among others.
I started my career as a guitarist, and over the years expanded my work into recording, production, and mixing.
I’ll work on your song to achieve the highest audio quality possible, enhancing your production with special attention to dynamics, punch, brightness, texture, and spatial depth.
I work primarily with Ableton Live and Pro Tools. You can send your stems from any DAW, but I prefer these two platforms.
I run my own studio, Tropico Records, fully equipped with high-end audio gear and a wide selection of instruments, including electric and acoustic guitars, acoustic piano, bass, and more.
My goal is to help both emerging and established artists take their songs to the next level, refining every detail of the production and delivering a powerful, professional mix.
Feel free to contact me with any questions about your project.
I look forward to working with you!

Interview with Gabriel Kerman
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as polished yet organic, with a focus on emotion and clarity. I aim to create mixes and productions that feel alive, dynamic, and full of character, while maintaining a modern, radio-ready sound. I like to blend the energy and rawness of rock with the melodic sensibilities of pop and the creativity of indie, making sure every song has its own unique identity and emotional impact.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with artists like Tame Impala or The Strokes. Their music inspires me because of its strong identity, emotional depth, and creative production. Working with artists like them would be exciting because I could help bring their unique vision to life, adding clarity, texture, and emotional impact while staying true to their artistic style. Collaborating with musicians who push boundaries and experiment with sound is always inspiring and motivating.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One of the best production tips I can share is: always serve the song, not the ego. It’s easy to overproduce or add too many layers, but great productions often come from intentional choices and strong arrangements. If every element has a clear purpose and space in the mix, the track will naturally feel bigger and more powerful. Sometimes removing a sound can have more impact than adding a new one. Clarity and emotion should always come first.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on pop, rock, and indie music. I’m especially drawn to projects that blend strong melodies with guitars, dynamic arrangements, and a distinctive sonic identity. Whether it’s modern pop with an alternative edge, energetic rock, or atmospheric indie productions, I focus on creating a sound that feels authentic, emotionally engaging, and competitive in today’s market.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is shaping a song’s sonic identity while maintaining its emotional core. I have a strong ear for balance, tone, and dynamics, which allows me to elevate a track without losing its authenticity. Whether I’m mixing, producing, or adding guitars, I focus on making intentional decisions that serve the song as a whole. I’m especially confident in creating depth, energy, and cohesion—so the final result feels polished, powerful, and true to the artist’s vision.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: What I bring to a song is clarity, identity, and emotional impact. Beyond technical quality, I focus on enhancing the core feeling of the track and making sure every element serves the song’s message. I bring a producer’s perspective to every project, whether I’m mixing, mastering, or recording instruments. That means paying attention to dynamics, arrangement, tone, and texture—so the final result feels cohesive, powerful, and authentic. Most importantly, I bring collaboration and sensitivity to the artist’s vision. My goal is not just to make a song sound good, but to make it feel right.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process is simple and collaborative. Once the artist sends me the project and shares their vision, references, and goals, we get to work in the direction they want to take the song. I always prioritize understanding the emotional intention and sonic identity they’re aiming for. From there, I focus on enhancing the track while staying true to their artistic vision—whether that means refining the production, elevating the mix, or adding instrumentation. Communication is key throughout the process, and I make sure clients feel involved and confident every step of the way until we achieve a result they’re truly happy with.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from my personal studio, Tropico Records, a creative space designed for high-quality production and detailed, professional mixes. My setup includes an Apogee Symphony Desktop interface and Genelec studio monitors, ensuring accurate monitoring and pristine audio conversion. I have a selection of high-quality microphones to capture vocals and acoustic instruments with clarity and character. For instruments, I work with several electric and acoustic guitars, a Fender tube amplifier for rich, organic tones, an acoustic piano, and a Korg synthesizer for modern textures and sound design. This combination of analog warmth and digital precision allows me to deliver productions that feel both polished and alive.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m deeply inspired by artists and producers who create strong sonic identities and emotional depth in their music. Bands like The Strokes have influenced me with their raw energy and minimal yet powerful production style. Tame Impala inspires me with its bold sonic experimentation, lush textures, and modern psychedelic sound design. Arcade Fire has also been a major influence, especially in terms of dynamic arrangements and building emotionally powerful, anthemic moments.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I primarily work on mixing and mastering for independent artists and bands, helping them achieve a polished, professional sound that competes with major releases. I also offer full music production services, from developing arrangements to shaping the overall sonic direction of a track. In addition, I record live guitars (electric and acoustic) for clients who want organic, high-quality performances that elevate their songs. While I specialize in rock and pop, I regularly work across other genres as well, adapting my approach to fit the artist’s vision and the emotional impact they want to create.
