Throughout my career as a bassist, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with renowned industry figures such as Maluma, Prince Royce, Greeicy, Vanesa Martin, Beéle, Gabito Ballesteros, Becky G, Reik, Carin León, Pedro Capó, Pablo Alborán, David Bisbal, Mike Bahía, and Kim Loaiza, among others. Recently, I was nominated for a Latin Grammy for my participation as a bassist on Prince Royce’s album Llamada Perdida, which has been a major milestone in my career.

Interview with Oscar Castaño Chavez

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Music allows us to convey emotions, which I love. Additionally, working from anywhere in the world—whether I'm traveling by car with my family or sailing on a boat—is possible thanks to today's technology
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What is the minimum time you could send it to me? My response is that it can be the same day
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: As a bassist, my priority is to enhance the producer's vision, applying my experience and knowledge to achieve the client's final goal
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of my favorite bass lines is from 'El Correcto' by Reik featuring Carin León. I had the honor of being the bassist on this track, and I'm very proud because I believe the bass line positively contributes to the composition
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently, I work as a cruise musician and manage my own artistic projects, with over 20 million streams of my music on digital platforms. Additionally, I have my own record label and music distributor

A: Digital technology enables me to work from anywhere in the world with HD quality, even while traveling. I always have my computer, bass, and interface readily available.
