LisaRae on SoundBetter

I'm a Christian singer, songwriter and spoken word artist creating music that carries conviction, vulnerability and truth.

The bulk of my experience is from my local community. My sound lives where faith meets indie -- honest storytelling, melodic hooks that linger, and lyrics rooted in hope, redemption, scripture and real-life transformation. I bring poetic depth and strong vocal delivery, whether you need a featured verse, emotive lead vocals, harmonies, or a collaborative songwriting partner

I don't just "add a part" to your record -- I enter your vision with intention and aim to help elevate the message. If your song needs authenticity, spiritual or scriptural weight, and creative synergy, count me in.

Interview with LisaRae

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I wrote a worship song for my church. I wrote the music, played the piano, sang the vocals and presented it. They loved it. It's Our Song and it feels...good.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Personally/Spiritually - Ephesians 4 - Truth is the core of relationship. If I can share the truth with those closes to me and those unfamiliar to me I can be better in life regardless of my perceived state of life. Business wise - assisting family with a few start ups. It's exciting and busy but I'm loving it. Music wise - a potential project, helping my husband navigate his CHH career.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Analog - like humanity it dissolves and deteriorates. It works without permission. Digital has the tendency to collapse when it fails. That can be nerve wrecking.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I promise I want to get it right for you. I will do everything in my power to help you.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Helping people.

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: That I always know EXACTLY what I'm doing. I've played music a long time and have been a singer for even longer. I can be found "feeling" my way through many things. I enjoy working along side others who don't mind feeling their way a little bit too.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: Are you saved? What do you expect from me? What can I expect from you? (after project completion) Would you use my services again? Why or why not? /// How can improve?

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Build relationship. Set clear expectations (yours & theirs). Be upfront. Enjoy the process.

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: if anything goes: 1. Husband 2. boat 3. captain 4. satellite cell phone 5. solar cell battery / flash light If strictly gear: 1. satellite phone 2. solar charger 3. good knife 4. deep skillet 5. solar lighter (the kind that uses electricity not lighter fluid)

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I have been singing since I was a child. I am new to doing music in this aspect and am truly doing it for a good cause. All proceeds will go to support a local counseling center we are building for my church to provide FREE counseling to the community.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: I'm a bit of a chameleon as needed but my natural style is pretty sultry. Blues meets Indie. I appreciate texture and tone in my voice and I often seek to know if I can "sing like that".

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: Don't over think it.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: I have been a vocalist on some Christian Hip Hop songs, and written and played my own songs. Piano - very "singer/song writer" (worship).

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: I believe that for the most part I can make it sound exactly like you want, or I can make it sound my own.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: Strength, control, soothe.

  31. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  32. A: I mostly participate in writing and vocals (lead/background). I really enjoy supporting a vision and making it fuller.
